Oh. I was going to say "Who are two people who've never been in my kitchen?" Hi Cliff! Since he has a connection to everyone else that is mentioned on this board, I was going to say that both are somehow connected to NevadaHoya.

Rosemont is more convenient to Depaul than the Cap Center was to GU.....

Rosemont is just awful. Horrible. The whole experience is way worse than the Cap Centre. Night games are brutal. It might be only 15 or so miles away but might as well be a 100.

Yes and the trip from GU to the Cap Center was more predictable, an accident or two on 90/94 can make the trip 2 hours at rush hour even though the miles are less than to Cap Center. When DePaul first moved to Rosemont their team was still respectable although already past Ray Meyer's glory years and Joey Meyer had good players committed when he took over. Back in those days Allstate/Rosemont Horizon was still clean and was well kept up. By the later 90's even the inside of the stadium was run down and now it is a complete pit! It would seem likely that an athletic director would consider keeping Oliver Purnell until the new Stadium is built. A change of coach while moving into a brand new downtown stadium would help make recruiting a better coach much more likely. It is hard to imaging a winning coach wanting to start over in a run down stadium with a failing program. There has been no indication that the City of Chicago is not still committed to building the McCormick place stadium.

And who the heck was the architect that built the arena in right angles. You just can't go around the arena in one direction. It's walk a little, hit a wall then make a 90 degree turn then hit another wall and then turn 90 degrees again.

I've never been to Rosemont, but I did the Cap Center trip throughout my years in GU and the 45-50 minute ride was a killer.

GW beat #11 ranked Wichita State 60-54. Impressive win for our DC neighbors. Congratulations to them.

Rosemount was rockin when the Meyer's were coaching Depaul with Mark Aquirre, Terry Cummings, Dallas Comegys, Rod Strickland. When the Meyer's were pushed out, the whole program collapsed and hasn't recovered in 25 years. Be careful what you wish for when trying to push out a coaching dynasty.

I give the DePaul fans their share of credit for sticking with the program as they have. Consider this parallel scenario: if Georgetown had pushed out the Thompsons for a run of coaches with no ties to DC, had turned down an offer to move to Verizon center to remain in the rotting Capital Centre property, and had hired a coach for $2 million a year who had never won an NCAA tournament game in his tenure (then or now), what would we be saying today? I also find it remarkable that DePaul is investing $82.5 million of the school's own money to help build this arena despite the offer for free rent at the House that Jordan Built. If Georgetown was being pushed by the DC mayor's office to fund an arena, is there any scenario where GU would spend $82 million on such a plan? None. depauliaonline.com/news/2014/12/10/depaul-budget-arena-increases-12-5-million/

My uncle was a starter on the 79 final four team, there is still a lot of pride in the DePaul program. Just need to build back up respectability.
