Odd they used our court but oh well. As far as that article goes, it was a long winded way of saying Cal is finding new ways to play all the players he paid.

But the article doesn't mention anything about off court inducements. That to me is a huge factor in today's recruiting. To leave it out, you are only telling half the story.

But the article doesn't mention anything about off court inducements. That to me is a huge factor in today's recruiting. To leave it out, you are only telling half the story. They also don't mention that Oubre hasn't been playing particularly well. In the regular season, if you don't perform, you sit. Even at Kentucky. Some interesting points in the article though. That said, my impression of the platoon thing is that it's just a cop out. If you tell your guys before the games start that you'll be playing a platoon, he won't have to explain to guys why they're getting less time than other guys. Almost all of the dudes on Kentucky would play more minutes at any other school in which case, using the author's logic in the article, their stat lines would look better than they do at Kentucky. The follow-up article should be on schools that promise kids the "star" role on their team as opposed to just a player at Kentucky. Isn't that attractive to some kids? Being the man? Who's the man on Kentucky? All I hear about is the platoon.

The Platoon is a genius marketing move. I dislike Cal as much as the next person but the Platoon thing is very smart marketing move.

I understand when you have 10 five stars you have to keep them happy. I'm a fan of Cal and what he is doing. 100% he is dirty but at this point he is untouchable. I think recruits will want to get more minutes and more individual Spotlight. At least one can hope...

He's told recruits it's a one year thing because everybody is leaving. I don't think that's likely though. Who really wants to draft about half their bigs right now?
