Coffee is for closers. Get it done. Second prize is a set of steak knives. 3rd prize is Marquette.

Looks like he has elite quickness; something we really need at the guard position. We seem to get our share of power guards (Trawick, DSR, etc.), but I think we also really need a quick guard who can penetrate on O and stop penetration on D. Like Tre? Well, I do agree Tre is quick and fast with the ball. And he was outstanding against Seton Hall; very confident and tough. However, I think he needs to work on his on-ball defense. He gets crossed over/blown by on too many occasions for someone with his quickness. Regardless, why can't we have two quick guards on our roster??

Agree and Tre would be a junior with a frosh apprentice that can give us minutes.

That's right. Tre certainly fits the bill. I love what I have seen of Tre, so far. I believe that he will develop into a great Hoya guard. I expect a big soph jump from him and LJ. Would love to have DB learning under junior Tre... Tre is so quick! As I have said before, he also has a quick release and is not shy about taking the shot.

He's been to every Hoya event possible. Not sure why he hasn't pulled the trigger yet.

Tre is quick with the ball going north-south, but Daquan is also quick east-west. The kid would be great for breaking the press and for end of clock situations. I hope he can hit free throws at a high clip.

I think he is probably coming here just won't make it official till Sept. That's the frustrating part. Sept. is a long ways away and alot can happen between now and then. Would like to lock him up now before AAU circuit if he starts making a bigger name for himself. I like our position for sure, but we've seen time and time again we've led for kids and then someone gets into their head. Not saying it happens even if he does blow up, but you get my point

I hope he can hit free throws at a high clip. Agree completely. Tre is as fast as anyone from end to end, but he occasionally struggles staying in front of quick guards. Reminds me of Jason Clark. But I agree about Bracey; seems to have great lateral quickness. He would fill a great need on our roster. And I agree with others; it's no sure thing with him waiting another 6 months to announce. I assume we aren't counting on him and have other committable offers out there. I really want us to offer Jackson....not sure why we haven't... He's a great athlete also, but half a foot taller...

Not saying it happens even if he does blow up, but you get my point A kid who says he intends to commit on his mother's birthday is extremely unlikely to change his mind and commit earlier, and you have to respect that. I suggest we start a Daquan Bracey's Mom thread. And as pointed out, this does cut both ways. He won't pop early, and we're not compelled to wait for him.

I noticed that Brandon Taylor of Utah is listed as 5'10", 167 lbs. He seems to be able to contribute. We are always fixated on height, but talent trumps everything!

I think our roster has enough height at multiple positions for the next couple years, but our real weakness is lateral quickness. I think adding Bracey would make a big difference in that area.

Agreed. We need a point guard that can consistently get in the lane to score or dish.

Utah got 32 FTA to our 9. That absolutely killed us and FT differential has been hurting us in the NCAAs for years.
