I don't want kids who slow play us when they have no other options. With the season we could potentially have there will be much better talent available down the line. Easy swerve. He didn't slow play us. We've been his top choice all along. Without divulging too much, the staff is being very selective with our remaining '17 scholarships.

That's a good strategy...we need to land very high quality players moving forward to insure our return to being a top notch program again...Tremont is a great start...

I wonder if/how Troy Brown plays into this? Brown seems to be similar to Waters in the sense that he is a very good student and hopefully would look to what GU would offer besides basketball. While Cal also is a great school academically, I hope that we have a shot, especially now that we landed another top backcourt player.

There is not much downside here for the Hoyas, which is a great position for a change!

If the staff, as it seems, is pushing for Waters AND Brown (gasp!), there will need to be shots to go around. Rafus seems to like to hoist perimeter shots, and a commitment from him might be inconsistent with landing that dynamic duo. Plus, there seems to be a difference in various other things between Waters/ Brown and Rafus.

He has no other HM offers. Kansas isn't really offering him and SH pulled their ride.

As of now, when Tre and Troy(wishing) would get on campus we would have Tre and Marcus as wing shooters to spread the floor. Jagan, Kaleb, Jon and Antwan(wishing) are not shooters as of now. Rafus likes to hoist shots but he is a good shooter by all accounts.

They can be a little bit more patient with this imo, and find a more versatile and ready player to fill that slot

Well, in 2017-2018, I think the Hoyas will have Copeland, Derrickson, Govan, Mourning, and hopefully Peak, all of whom can hit threes. Two more years of Derrickson and Govan after that (I do not buy that either leaves early to go pro, although I think both will be very good college players). I think that issue will work itself out.

I'd be surprised if Peak and Copeland are here next year. Think the staff has to recruit like they are gone.

He's reopening his recruitment.

He's reopening his recruitment. This sounds like Beatty, when did he commit in the first place to reopen?

He had cut his list to 4, so I think this just means he is open to more schools now. My guess is he isn't getting the love he wants.

It is certainly possible that we just don't love him as much as he wants us to, rather than the other way around. Maybe we have targets that we want more and are slow playing him?

It sounds pretty clear that the Hoyas are not willing to pull the trigger, which sounds like good due diligence on this one. The situation may or may not change.

Nothing against the kid because he is talented but his ranking in scouts in the 120s is about correct. he could be a dominating player but he is a floater. Like I said if Summers annoyed you, he is worse than that.

With Walker in the fold, I assume this is officially not happening.
