I think he should come off the bench, cut his minutes in half honestly. If we are going to take the next step and start winning winnable games then I think the smart option here is to Start Campbell at the 1 move DSR back to the 2. Defensively we are not a lock down team we need to score points in order to win and Jabril honestly cancels himself out to me, with his fouls and turnovers that is not winning basketball. He is a starter but he scored 4 points against Wisconsin and he scored 2 points against Kansas both losses. I'm not trying to bash the kid but he is a liability on the offensive side of the ball, him lined up along side Hopkins we are looking at 3 on 5. He is great against cream puff teams but he pulls a disappearing act against legit competition. Its time to start Campbell let the kid learn, I can live with freshman mistakes it comes with the territory, they will learn mistakes can be fixed. Being offensively one dimensional will get us going to the NIT again. I hope coach will open his eyes that this team gets its boost from the freshman and stop being Holden to the upper class-men because talent wise there isnt any competition. These freshmen are something special thrown into the fire and that is including Campbell. We cant win playing tight to the vest with 7 players I think that's been proven already has it not. Kids get tired and winded so I think coach needs to change some of his philosophy with the 7 man rotation. With this team we can go a legit 10 players its time to stop doing the same ole thing.

It's one bad game. Trawick was god awful last night, but everyone else did enough to win the game easiliy, except that DSR was a no-show. Can't have DSR so bad at critical times of the game. Very sad. Would have won with a sub-par game from DSR, but could not overcome the horrible shooting game by DSR. Too bad, because there won't be many games when everyone else is clicking so nicely. We had a lot of things come together last night. DSR, man, just killed our ability to win. Unfortunately most of this is true. Jabril was bad on offense, and we win easily if DSR shows up. I wouldn't describe it as sad, but disappointing. Where I disagree is that I believe we are in store for many more games where everyone is playing well. I don't think that's an anomaly.

The difference is that DSR was off shooting. Jabril repeatedly kept trying to beat his guy off the dribble unsuccessfully. That's not in his skillset. He has to understand that. Jabril has not played well this season except on the break. It hasn't just been one game. He needs to play better.

Actually he only plays decent against cream puff teams nothing else. Kansas 2 points Towson 11 points Butler 3 points Wisconsin 4 points Florida (OT) 10 points Robert Morris 6 points Texas A&M CC 7 points St. Francis 11 points
Thats it in a nutshell, he is a senior and a starter it will not get any better. Its time to put the PG of the future on the floor in Campbell and move DSR back to his natural position the 2 guard spot. RIDE THE FRESHMAN CLASS COACH, but I know he wont.

I think it is much more likely we start White at the 3. Very clearly one of our best players right now.

No way Campbell starts this year, unless an injury happens. We'll put the best 5 on the floor and while he may be the only true PG, hes not one of the best 5 and even top 8 is debatable because experience is important.

The difference is that DSR was off shooting. Jabril repeatedly kept trying to beat his guy off the dribble unsuccessfully. This. DSR had a handful of shots that were in & out that would have been game changers. I think he will have a 30pt game in the near future and this slump will be a distant memory. Trawick, on the other hand, looks lost out there. I recall watching the St Francis game and thinking that he was deliberately trying to keep up with the new kid in town - LJ - in terms of being overly aggressive attacking the rim. It worked for a game or two against less athletic players, but he looked absolutely foolish trying it against KU. The hard part to swallow is that he was so efficient when he came back from his injury last year - he settled into the flow of games, picked his spots well and was very proficient from 3pt range. I am hard pressed to recall him shooting more than a few 3's this season. Instead he just lowers the shoulder and barrels down the lane. And to make matters worse, when he doesn't get the call he wants, he often glares/jaws at the ref instead of getting back on D. Put me in the camp of letting him come off the bench. I just think its a better fit for his personality. If nothing else it prevents him from having 2 fouls before the under 16 TV timeout.

It hasn't just been one game. He needs to play better. I see the argument for changing his role a little but I don't think it's that time just yet. What would really benefit him is gaining confidence in taking the open 3's that he's passed up much of the time. It's a good shot and a shot he's capable of making. Take the shot. Once a couple fall, it'll open up some other options for him. He's not getting by a guy playing him to drive. He can get by a guy playing him to shoot. In a perfect world, he'd really be helped by working on his mid-range game. Luckily, DSR could absolutely help him with that.

Kid is 6 for 9 shooting from beyond the arc and looks good doing so. Let him raise!

Its just amazing how much better this team is, when Jabril plays good D (without excessive fouling) and is under control on the offensive end. I had not realized how important he can be to the team's success.

He's been terrific on both ends in recent games. There's no question. The reality is that we (and anybody) are much better when anyone getting significant time plays a lot better. It's hard for that person to be Josh or DSR, because they already are performing at a high level (though DSR could shoot it better). But what's so exciting about this team is that there are lots of other players with both room to improve and the capability to improve -- it may be somewhat surprising that it's been Bril in addition to the freshmen, but all the better!

He's by far the best at executing my favorite defensive maneuver, which I like to call "grabbing the ball from another player's hands and running away with it."

He is a classic you love him/you hate him player. The season fell apart last year when he got hurt--if he's healthy, we make the NCAAs. This year, there have been plenty of games where I've wanted him banished to the locker room never to return for his out-of-control offensive antics or lost temper, and other times where his fearlessness and willignness to drive into the teeth of the defense is the only thing allowing this team to score points against a zone.
More will be needed on Saturday.
