Maybe the NJIT win at Michigan was a harbinger of things to come. Final score tonight in Ann Arbor: Eastern Michigan 45, Michigan 42. Eastern Michigan shot a whopping 33% from the field for the win. EMU maybe a tournament team this year. Former Syracuse assistant Rob Johnson runs the Syracuse 2-3 zone and in this his 4th year of running it his players seem to have mastered it. This reminded me of Dashonte Riley, one-time Georgetown commit, who then betrayed us for Syracuse, but then transferred to EMU. Never really was that good I guess espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/46154/dashonte-rileyWasn't there a story about Sims owning him in a practice, and so he decided to go elsewhere after that?

Yeah it's only the beginning of the season, and we are doing just fine...
bu watching UMD armored with local recruits playing well kinda gives me a bitter taste in my mouth... think we need to do a better job retainin those talents in this area, for us.

George Washington 81, DePaul 68. Final. GW's not bad this year. They have some good of length for college especially at the small forward spot.

Just one contest of interest tonight. With 12:30 to play in the second half, Iowa State leads Iowa 64-40. It was a five point game at the half, but the Cyclones blew it open after intermission.

Iowa State, playing without Bryce Dejean-Smith (one game suspension after his arrest Thursday), defeated Iowa 90-75 in Iowa City.

SC Upstate leads Maryland at the half, 28-24. Terps are shooting 25.7% from the field, and 11.8% (2 for 17) from three point range in the first half. Safe to assume that this won't last.

Kentucky, with a decided foul shot advantage at Lexington, way ahead of North Carolina at the half, 49-34. Guess the Tar Heels were up late cramming for their finals.
