At the half in the opening game of the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden, Villanova leads Illinois, 33-27. Illinois is wearing their traditional gray home uniform. 'Nova killing the Illini on the boards. Hope the refs in this game aren't working the Hoyas and Jayhawks tomorrow.
EDIT: Apologies for the accidental double post.

Xavier woke up in the second half, and rolled to a 66-43 win over IUPUI.

Sterling Gibbs with a very big second half for Seton Hall, but it's not enough. Wichita State 77, Seton Hall 68. Final.

Not happy seeing Josh Hart looking good for 'Nova. Ochefu too. I know we were on him, but lost out. Hart, on the other hand, was ours to lose.
Nova 73-59

Nova 73-59 Ochefu looked miles better than I've seen him prior. The Cats hit a bunch of big shots. And they played really well down the stretch. I hadn't been buying them as a top ten team but I'm wavering on that now.

St. Francis (New York) becomes the latest victim of the mighty Highlanders of NJIT, 68-66. Highlander fans at the game were treated to a halftime make-your-own-sundae reception, and they stormed the court after the win over the now 2-6 Terriers.

Creighton looking very lethargic, and trails South Dakota (3-6) 28-25 at the half in Omaha.

Maybe the NJIT win at Michigan was a harbinger of things to come. Final score tonight in Ann Arbor: Eastern Michigan 45, Michigan 42. Eastern Michigan shot a whopping 33% from the field for the win.

Creighton and South Dakota are going to overtime, on two three-point shots in the final ten seconds by Tyler Larsen.

They are now going to a second overtime in Omaha, with Creighton and South Dakota tied at 76-76. The Coyotes (yes, that is their nickname) keep on hitting clutch threes to extend the game.

James Milliken and Austin Chatman carried Creighton in the second overtime, and the 'Jays survive, 91-88, over South Dakota. Creighton failed to exploit a major height advantage, and allowed South Dakota to hang around. The Coyotes played the majority of the game with no player taller than 6'4" on the court, but Creighton could not get the ball inside.

EMU maybe a tournament team this year. Former Syracuse assistant Rob Johnson runs the Syracuse 2-3 zone and in this his 4th year of running it his players seem to have mastered it.
