Thought he played very well in this game. He was noticeably more aggressive in the boards which had been an issue for him and was baffling given his size and athleticism. I think the amount of minutes he logs against Butler will depend on his ability to grab boards given how well Butler rebounds the ball. He does that and stays aggressive on offense and I think he's going to be a valuable part of the rotation down the stretch.

Let's all also feel for Ike today who tweeted that the team got back at 4 am and he had class at 9:30 this morning.

His defense was really, really bad. Almost Kevin Love bad.
In the post, he was abused. Couldn't hold his position when backed down and people scored at will. And they drove by him and broke his ankles at will which forced another big to cover for his mistake and pick up a foul. (Josh Smith).
Alot of that is just adding more strength for post defense and really working hard on defense in practice. If it was even adequate he would be playing more because offensively he's really good. If defense offense substitutions were used the whole game then maybe sub him and Hopkins out on every possession.

Yeah, Cope is pretty bad on defense. I thought he would be further along by now in terms of positioning and just being able to be average so we could use his offensive skills. You can tell he is going to be a great player once he cna play adequate defense.

It's still very early in his career and development, he'll continue to get better. And also, he really isn't that bad, he just has a few plays that stick out (one where he got taken to the cup from the top of the key by Garrett Jr., but he's been blowing by everyone all season), but his help positioning and length to contest shots does make a difference, it's just not the pretty play so the casual fan doesn't recognize it.

He has great length and instincts, in fact, he always make a play or two that make me think about his potential. Agree, he needs more consistent PT.

But his lack of PT compared to Paul White and LJ is probably a function of how bad his defense has been and it was still evident yesterday. I think it's come to a point though where III recognized he had to change things up and look for more offense given that we've had problems with any consistent offensive option after Smith and DSR so it's a tradeoff he's willing to take at the moment.

You could be right. My trips home across the trestle Senior year are a testament to the adage that God looks out for drunks and little children.

The beauty of 4th Healy freshman year was the elevator at the end of Healy basement opposite the Pub - virtually (thought not completely) impossible to get lost.

Issac Copeland tonight 10pts, 4/7 FG's, 2/2 3pt FG's, 6 rebs., 2 assts.
Hit the game winner and biggest shot of his young career to propel the Hoyas to a 2 game winning streak and a Big Monday match-up vs Villanova

This team is a contender if Isaac continues to gain confidence and contribute on offense. It eases the pressure on DSR and Josh, and at the same time keeps the defense from overplaying them.

He really has a great instinct for the ball off the rim which aids in his ability to rebound. Gotta play the kid, showing why he is the top Hoya recruit. With confidence, he could be our best player by seasons end. (that's right, I said it)
