Not to get in the way of a good hoyatalk sparring match, but reading this thread I was thinking something. You know how this team goes from good to great next year? If DSR is our second best player. Ike really does hold the key to our success. The ceiling is just higher with DSR back. He still could be our #1 option next year and if he is, we'd all be happy. I will settle for 1 and 1A, no matter the order.

We know DSR will be a BE first teamer, and the current freshmen will be better, who h will make Ike a very big piece. So if JG is better than they are?! Gonna be big.

And he's got plenty of upside still to realize. I know he's put in solid offensive games already but I think there's a monster one coming. Once he improves on finishing in traffic, watch out.

His 14 assists are just as impressive in my view, he only had 23 last season.. It's easy to see that Ike is much more comfortable in the offense this season..

It can be hard to be a breakout performer in this program. We try to recruit kids who are team-first guys, who look to make the smart play, whether it is a shot, a pass, set a screen, etc. Especially with the depth of talent we have this year, I get the sense that some players-Ike included - are almost hesitant to try to take things over even when they are hot. The staff may have to push harder to make sure the guys accept the green light.

Then let's say he's made significant strides in his development.
