Sorry Cosmo but none of that matters. Young players get compared to older player ALL THE TIME…. People were calling Malik Newman the next Iverson when he was a Freshman in HS. Ray Smith the next Paul George in High School. There’s 0 harm done. It seems like you just love to be negative, can’t recall the last time you posted anything good about Hoya Basketball. also can't remember the last time you did not put words into people's mouths. this was about comparin White to KA after 6 games of a season, and all i said was it was too early to compare those two, while clearly agreein with some people with sanity that KA def. has a better ball handlin skills than white. it's silly. that should not even be compared. white has a very good ball handlin skills AS A 6'9 AS SOMEONE PLAYING 3 OR 4 POSITION. but he is NOT a PG, nor will he ever be one for us. IIRC JTIII said Paul White could play point for us.

You Said "some ppl drank here too much hoya blue... comparing white to KA already... really? :0 when white becomes the best player in the BE and becomes a first round pick in the NBA, then come back again to sell your hoya blue plz. discussion closed about KA vs. white” That’s a clown comment bro..lol.. Young guys get compared to old guys all the time and way before they become a draftpick in the NBA.

Is DSR chopped liver then? Why would DSR be chopped liver? If DSR leaves for pro (NBA or Europe) after this year then there's a void at point guard, especially since we missed out on all the top PG prospects for next year. No, I meant more in terms of Shabazz and Drew being a caveat for why KA didn't have more opportunities his fr year. Our backcourt and talent is arguably better than that UCLA team (remember how Shabazz actually performed at the NCAA level). White is facing at least equal circumstances in terms of the quality of his opportunities. It's not like he has free reign to do what he wants.

This is a board where multiple people have endorsed a Bowen = Jordan comp and Kyle Anderson is too much of a stretch?

I can see the Aaron Bowen-Eddie Jordan comparison very easily.

In the Duke-Wisconsin preview, I thought this was a cool blurb about Okafor's relationship with Paul White: Okafor said he watched the Badgers’ 68-65 win over Georgetown last week in the Battle 4 Atlantis. But it wasn’t to scout what Kaminsky was doing. The Chicago native was supporting the Hoyas’ Paul White, his former teammate at Whitney Young High School. espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation

On Sunday, the young Chicagoan continued to show the versatility of his game against Towson, making a career-high three three-pointers on four attempts. For the season, White now has a true shooting percentage of 63.8 percent and an offensive rating of over 110.0 (more than 130.0 in the last three games). Hoyas’ fans are hoping that this was a prelude for what’s to come from him in the team’s match-up against Kansas (and Alexander) on Wednesday night. If the young stretch forward can keep playing at an efficient level, and Josh Smith remains on the floor, and D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera continues to fill the stat sheet, the Hoyas should have a great chance to secure the marquee non-conference win that they let slip through their hands against Wisconsin. In the long term, White’s emergence will speed up the maturation process for the team as a whole by reducing the load that the others will have to carry, resulting in a more diversified offense that can get the Hoyas back to where they belong — in the NCAA Tournament. - See more at: rushthecourt.net/2014/12/08/paul-whites-emergence-is-another-step-in-the-right-direction-for-georgetown/?utm_campaign=twitter&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitter#sthash.cdgWM0B6.dpufThink he made 4 3’s though and scored 16pts

It was later corrected.

Comparing White and Anderson as frosh what did KA have over White? Probably a slightly better handle. Better vision and passing perhaps. Superior rebounding. But White appears to have him beat at quickness, overall athleticism, defensive ability and definitely shooting. I don't think it is a stretch to be of the opinion that White looks like a better prospect at the same stage of his career as KA (even though admittedly I didn't see nearly as many early games of KA). It's not like KA was Magic Johnson or anything.

I'd give the nudge to White over Otto as to where they both are right now in December of their Freshmen years. White seems more athletic, his shot seems better, a better handle, and less timid to create and score. I would say Otto had a better frame, rebounded, and probably passed better. Overall--Paul White

He's just a really good basketball player. Looks like a two year guy to me, or at least he could be if things break right. As for the comparison to Otto, it's a little unfair since Otto was a top 5 player in the nation as a sophomore, and it's a big projection to say White will be that good. I'm not ready to say White has a better shot - Otto had the midrange going right away and became an excellent three point shooter his second year. White definitely seems more assertive at this point of his career which is great.

Here's some more love for Paul White...through almost a third of the season he's been a 180+ shooter (53% FG, 50% 3PT, 92% FT). He's actually shooting a combined 195 which is amazing. I know he's only averaging 22MPG and his attempts (FGA, 3PA, FTA) are relatively low but it's still impressive. I don't think we've had a 180+ shooter for a full season since John Wallace did it in 06-07. His numbers that year were 51% FG, 49% 3PT, and 87% FT. Wallace was clutch!

I say that with all my fingers & toes crossed.. You're right though, White is a player.. As a fan, he makes you feel relaxed when he has the ball in his hands..

Absolutely love what Paul White has done this year. I think we need to see in time, however, how well that jump shot form holds up. Kind of surprised the ball goes in every time he shoots from distance (but it has so far!!!)...
