blood in the water with Florida. Got to beat them. The next game against Wisconsin would be a great measuring stick and it would be played on ESPN vs. AXS TV whatever that is. It would be good for the country to see us at this point. I feel the same way. This is a team we need to beat while they are down. It reminds me of UCLA a few years ago when they were struggling to find an identity and we handled them. Florida will end up being a top 20-30 team this year, but right now, they arent playing like that.

What do you mean "ESPN vs AXIS TV"?

What do you mean "ESPN vs AXIS TV"? The game against Florida is on some janky "AXIS TV" channel that no one gets. If we win, then we get the "big stage" --> ESPN. No one will see us on AXIS. If we are on ESPN, its a good way to get more national coverage/awareness. Of course... all that matters is the W.

The first game and the losers bracket are on AXS TV which is an obscure English cable channel that few providers have. The winners side of the bracket are on ESPN & ESPN2.

I don't know why they changed the name, but I thought that was a mistake as HDnet was a pretty good channel in itself.

The first game and the losers bracket are on AXS TV which is an obscure English cable channel that few providers have. The winners side of the bracket are on ESPN & ESPN2. Don't know where the English thing (unless you mean English language) came from but it was originally HDNet, owned by Mark Cuban. I get AXS TV on Direct TV. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AXS_TVThe channel gradually expanded its carriage to satellite providers DirecTV and Dish Network as well as cable providers Charter Communications, Insight Communications, Mediacom, Suddenlink Communications, Verizon FiOS and AT&T U-verse. On September 4, 2008, Cuban announced that the network reached an agreement with Comcast to carry both HDNet and HDNet Movies in various markets; the provider began to carry HDNet in many major markets on September 30, 2010. In November 2009, DirecTV became the first provider to offer video-on-demand services of HDNet and HDNet Movies.[3]

I thought it was English as in the UK. I am wrong which makes it even more puzzling that this station has zero coverage and sucks.

On FIOS it's channel 569 which is the channel right below ESPN (570). I'm surprised you've never come across it as it is clustered with ESPN and the sports channels. PBS is the English channel. Downton Abbey and what not.

RCN doesn't carry it. More importantly, Comcast in Indiana doesn't carry it either to the best of my knowledge which is where I'll be for our first round game.

TV coverage previously outlined in the Hoyas on TV thread. I copied the relevant info for AXS.TV from that thread to the first post in the articles thread, but here it is again (because repetition is an important part of learning): TV Coverage:The Florida game, as was discussed previously here, is being shown on AXS TV. Regarding AXS TV: www.axs.tv/subscribe/

Florida not expecting to have Dorian Finney-Smith or Eli Carter on Wednesday.
That means that they will likely be starting Horford (transfer), Kurtz (walk-on), Robinson (unproven freshman) alongside Michael Frazier and Kasey Hill. They will probably have a total of six scholarship players available.
We should win this game.

For what it's worth, I was just testing the Fios app for AXS streaming and there was an advertisement for our game at 9:30 on AXS. So even if your online guide says otherwise that's definitely it.

They will probably have a total of six scholarship players available. We should win this game. If we're playing up to our capabilities we should win this game even if Florida had its entire lineup. That team lost four of its five starters from last season and I believe overall five of its top seven players. That's hard for any program to overcome early in the season unless it brings in a Duke or Kentucky type of recruiting class. But if Florida is short-handed the game will be a test to see if III is willing to increase tempo, press and use his depth or if he will settle into his comfortable routine of having his team at best grind out a tough win in a low scoring affair in which he allows the other team to dictate pace. Last of all it is time for DSR's entire game to show up. He needs to start scoring and shooting the ball well again even while continuing to dish out the assists and grabbing boards.

Keep feeding the big fella. As long as he's motivated and plays smart like the last couple games, the Gators will have no answer for him inside.
