For those who have seen him...am I correct that he is somewhat like LJ in that he is an athletic slasher with a good handle? (Understand he is not as highly rated a recruit at this point in his career) I thought of LJ as well. Also see some David wingate in him. At the end, LJ and Kaleb will be interchangeable at the 2/3, as Ike and White are at the 3/4. Agau is essentially the replacement for Hopkins and Govan for Smith. Think Derrickson gets spot minutes, but fewer than the other 3 newcomers...just a hunch.

Love the potential connections with this commit...Kaleb's brother, Quentin Jackson, Ian Steere. Impressive group we may have great access to now.

I agree with some that he'll probably fill the Bowen role at first. While he and Bowen are about the same size and build, and are both athletic, I see Kaleb developing as a much different type of player. He's a good athlete, but not at the level of Bowen. However, he already has a better looking jumper (55% on 3s this year), a better looking handle, and probably a more diverse ceiling to his overall offensive game. Although we all know through recent history that great shooting in HS doesn't necessarily translate to the next level...
I really like this pickup. Until recently, he's been under the radar a bit...probably at least in part due to being overshadowed by Maker last year. I'm guessing if we didn't get a commit now he probably would have continued to rise up the rankings through the next few months. Great job by the staff, and a great 4 member group coming in next year. If I had to guess, that might be it for the 2015 class unless something unexpected presents itself (Murray reclass) or a 5th year senior transfer.
All in all, I'll trade an ugly loss for a top 100 (barely) commit any day!

Think he is a good complimentary piece, nice versatility, and mostly takes shots he can make. Hopefully he focuses in on being a defensive stopper, since that’s where he will have the ability to earn a lot of minutes right away. Bow and Brill are both + defenders obviously.. The 57% number surprised me but didn’t repost because MaxPreps isn’t always reliable with their stats. That being said he’s had a lot of 8-12 7-11 type of games from the field this season according to them and others..

“I got to spend a lot of time with the team and practice with the team while they were preparing for the game with Xavier,” Johnson said. “I saw their preparation, they watched a lot of film, and got to spend a lot of time with the coaching staff.” The visit to Georgetown’s picturesque campus and top-of-the-line home arena, the Verizon Center, which is shared with the NBA’s Washington Wizards, put the cherry on top for the academically-minded Johnson, he said. “The biggest difference is Georgetown’s reputation as a great academic school as well as a great basketball program with a history of success,” Johnson said. “I was preaching about finding a balance between basketball and academics. I think Georgetown is a perfect fit when it comes to that.” www.martinsvillebulletin.com/article.cfm?ID=45260

It would be even higher if they would include transfers. I played with the numbers a little and by adding .9327 ,the rating that they gave Akoy Agau, we would be sitting in the 18th spot, IAW 247 Sports.

So we'll call it top 20. Back-to-back strong classes. Should translate into a whole lotta wins!

Kaleb sounds like a great kid with a lot of potential. Hopefully, as many others have said, he can fill some of the minutes left by Bowen and Jabril. I have read a few things talking about his aggressiveness and even one quote that said he had a lot of "dog" in him. Lots have said he is a Bowen replacement, but if that quote is true....maybe he will give the team that toughness Jabril has always provided. In any case, it seems like a great signing, especially taking into account who is still available. I like the connections he gives us with his up and coming brother and teammates. I really like how JTIII and the staff have been focusing on slightly under the radar players who are teammates of top rated guys. Kaleb was able to fly under with Maker and Paul White, while still pretty highly rated, was under the radar a bit playing with Okafor. Seems like a good strategy.....kind of a misdirection play in recruiting.
