scouthoops.scout.com/story/1497023-hsot-day-three-notebook?s=75Kaleb Johnson, WF/PF, Martinsville (Va.) Carlisle An unsigned senior, Johnson has the 6-6 body of a wing but bears some hallmarks of a power forward's game. He loves to rip down defensive rebounds and rush the other way. He frequently generates a lot of pressure with his speed and aggression. That said, he plays at one speed quite often and is prone to forcing the action.
Defensively, he could develop into a legitimate two-position defender as he gains strength. He did struggle big-time with his shot, something to observe through the remainder of the season.
In Carlisle's win Johnson went for 17 points (7-15 FG) and 10 rebounds, getting the most out of his athletic talent. Now the kid sounds like a mini Bowen, I like the thought of it.. Man have times changed..

Man have times changed.. Yep, I was thinking the same thing. Two years ago, if you had said a recruit reminded you of Bowen I'd say no thanks. But now, I think a Bowen-esque player would be very valuable off the bench for the next couple years.

Does anyone know if the Hoyas are involved at all? We are involved. Expect things to heat up here.

We have a need here given we lose Jabril and Bowen. Kid would fit in perfectly.

Kaleb Johnson of Roankoke, Va., who plays for the Carlisle School. The 6-7 wing forward proved his scoring ability in a match-up versus Arlington Country Day at the Marshall County Hoop Fest back in December. His 21 point 8 rebound effort piqued the interest of programs like Wake Forest and Clemson. He already has offers from Auburn, East Carolina, Oklahoma State and South Florida. – Jonathan Hemingway ontheradarhoops.com/otrhoopsreport-2015-predictions-january-13-2015/Playmaker Bio: Kaleb Johnson is listed as a 6’6 shooting guard, but aslo has the capability to run the point and small forward. He is very poised and makes great decisions with the ball. He knows how to use his body to protect the ball against smaller, quicker defenders. He is very efficient offensively and proved to be a matchup problem for everyone at the high school level. When small defenders guard him, he uses his size to finish at the rim; when bigger defenders guard him, he takes them outside and uses his quickness to beat them. After his sophomore year, Kaleb transferred to Carlisle School where he teamed up with Thon Maker and together they dominated their way to a VISAA Division 2 State Championship. With so much defensive attention being drawn to Thon, teams simply had no answer for Kaleb. There is no question that Kaleb Johnson is a high-major caliber prospect. He has dominated against several of the nations top players and makes it look effortless. Thanks for the updates. This young man looks like he would be a very good addition to the recruiting class.

Let's lock it down! A 6'6" shooting guard that can also run the point at times? Yes please

Well, it's apparent he's not under the radar anymore. I hope we can wrap this up before he blows up any more.

@jeffborzello: Kaleb Johnson is lone uncommitted newcomer to ESPN100.
Said William & Mary is coming the hardest; offers from Tenn, So Car, OK State, etc.

Sorry but are we even remotely involved? He came to Midnight Madness and B&G confirmed earlier in the thread that we are still involved. ETA - Casual is also reporting interest from the Hoyas.
