6'6" swingman from Carlisle School in VA. Could be a decent spring signing depending on how the season and recruiting goes.
Mods can you please move posts from him in the prospects thread to here.

Based on his size, good athleticism, and some guard-like skills, I'm guessing this kid might really blow up over the course of the winter. Hopefully, we've already built a good foundation with him. He might be a little underrated now, and we do well with identifying undervalued recruits and getting them committed before they blow up. Getting a wing is not as important a priority as a PG, but I say let's get as many long, athletic, versatile guys as we can and figure out where to play them later.

Mr. Performance 6’7 Sr. Kaleb Johnson of Carlisle School We currently have Kaleb Johnson ranked 10th in the Phenom Hoop Virginia 2015 rankings. phenomhoopreport.com/class-2015-virginia-top-50-rankings/Kaleb Johnson probably had the single best performance at the star laden event. He has been primarily a mid major target, but that too will quickly change. In the game against Greenfield on Saturday, Johnson had tournament high 33 points. He absolutely blistered the nets from all levels on the court. Johnson went 12-15 from the floor, 4-5 from the three-point line, and 5-6 from the free throw line. The best thing about Johnson is his versatility. He has the ability to handle the ball and help set up the offense. His height allows him to see over smaller defenders and constantly make the right read and pass. Johnson has the ability to beat his man off the dribble, shoot the midrange, and displayed the ability to knock down 3-pointers with accuracy. While his release point on his jumper has a tendency to be flat at times, he does possess the extension and follow through which helps his consistency. Immediately after this impressive performance, Charlotte extended an offer, adding to the Tennessee, William and Mary, and Georgia Southern offers he claimed at the event. Look for that offer list to grow and interest level from high majors. phenomhoopreport.com/phenom-hoops-national-showcase-review-part-1/

HoopSeen @hoopseen Nov 17 Scoring 33 pts, standing 6-5 & posting a 4.1 GPA are #s schools like. Get ready, Kaleb Johnson.http://hoopseen.com/index.php/news/headlines/item/2654-johnson-seeking-balance-in-college … A trip to Tennessee, a school he says has recently offered him a scholarship, is in the works. He and his father are trying to nail down a visit date. Radford, Penn and Georgia Southern have already dug in with him and are actively recruiting him, too. "I'm looking at a mix of education and basketball," Johnson said. "I'm looking to find that balance with the books.” hoopseen.com/index.php/news/headlines/item/2654-johnson-seeking-balance-in-collegeJustgot offered by Charlotte also

Is it hyperbole? If it's not, I would imagine he'll start getting a lot more high major offers. I hate to make this comparison so soon, but this report makes him sound like a poor man's PJ Dozier. I hope we don't wait too long to offer him.

He's on our radar due to the skill of our Freshman wings and the fact that they may not be around for long. He's not a replacement for a PG recruit.

Well thank you very much for bursting my bubble.....and here I thought I had found an under the radar Dozier replacement....

Yaboy has previously posted this in the 2015 thread.. Really starting to like what I'm seeing & reading on this kid... I agree. I'm going to keep banging the drum for him. On the surface, another wing might not be a priority. However, we graduate Bowen and Trawick, and I don't think you can ever have too many long/athletic players on your team. He's definitely underrated now, but if he keeps putting up 25 points a game he might not be for much longer. A PG who can handle and hit FTs is the biggest need right now, but we have 3 open scholarships so why not grab this kid before he blows up?
