Gimme this kid, Kodye Pugh plus a big like Benson, Bennett or Miller and I'm good for 2016.. I love Fultz too and I'm in favor of the staff going all out to get him but everyone & their brothers will be on him as well.. Agree completely. Jackson is a great athlete with high upside. I'm kind of surprised he hasn't been getting as much attention from the rankings or the big boys yet. But I suspect that will change and he'll blow up over the summer. I hope we can lock him up before the summer. As you said, a class with Jackson, Pugh, and a big would be outstanding. Personally, I like Miller the best of the three you mentioned...seems to have the most upside to my eyes.

B&G, are we thinking more realistically with Quentin Bracey at the guard spot (as opposed to Fultz, like Etomic said)? Would love me some Rodney MIller too. Him on the block and Jessie stepping out to 17 feet? Yeah, guard that. #irrationaloverexuberance

www.todaysu.com/recruiting/basketball-recruiting/recruiting-spotlight-standout-2016-point-guard-quentin-jackson-jrThe first player I think of when I watch Jackson play is Russell Westbrook (yes, I’m going there). The size is there; the explosiveness is there; the agility is there; the handles are there; the slashing is there; the passing is there; the mid-range game is there. Also, just like Westbrook, Jackson is a tremendously underrated 3-Star prospect. I would be shocked if Jackson doesn’t become a consensus 4-Star, top 100 prospect soon (247Sports is the only site that currently ranks him as a top-100, 4-Star prospect).J ackson’s list of scholarship offers will certainly grow over the next year but he already has an idea of where he’d like to end up: “I just got offered from Northwestern two weeks ago. Notre Dame, Stanford, Virginia, and Virginia Tech are showing a lot of interest right now as well … I really like Stanford because it’s in California and the academics are great. That’s a huge deal for me. I look for both great academics and basketball wherever I go … And [head coach] Johnny Dawkins is a family friend. My dad coached his sons in AAU and played against him in college [Quentin Jackson Sr. was a point guard at NC State while Dawkins was a shooting guard at Duke]. So I really really like Stanford.”Very surprised the staff hasn't offered yet...

Great news! I was one of those who was worried we weren't showing enough love to this kid. Maybe it's just me, but when I watch this kid on video I think he has as much upside as many of the top 100 guards in his class. I think there's a good chance he blows up over the summer; impressive blend of height and athleticism for a guard. He would make a great complement to Bracey...

Did some looking around and appears QJ is playing for Stakehouse Elite not Team Loaded NC…
Good for him as he wasn’t going to get any touched playing next to Dennis Smith JR. His team defeated Team Loaded VA today in their first game

Nice write up from Rob Harrington.. Still like Jackson a lot and he's still there to be taken.. He's a top student also.. www.scout.com/college/basketball/recruiting/story/1549736-major-offers-begin-to-flow-for-jackson?s=75Quentin Jackson offers a fairly illustrative example of why patience pays off when scouting young players. A reasonably good athlete last year at this time, Jackson’s athletic profile has risen dramatically over the past 12 months. It’s not so much that his game has changed fundamentally, he’s simply better at it.
The 6-3 guard — who hails from North Carolina but preps in Virginia — always has loved to attack along the baseline, particularly from the right side. These days, even when players deduce correctly that he prefers to drive right (something he’ll need to balance), he’s still able to make aggressive slashes to the rim thanks to an explosive first step and sharp crossover dribble.
Jackson also has become a bouncy finisher who racks up dunks and draws fouls on big men who amble over from the help side. His mid-range jump shot also is effective, and he hopes to raise the lift and trajectory on his relatively flat three-point jumper. His recruitment exists at the border of the high- and mid-major level. Major conference programs have become more seriously involved, however, and based on his recent play that’s entirely to be expected. ”Some of the newest offers are Kansas State, Lehigh, Tennessee, Duquesne, and then I have Houston and some other schools,” Jackson said. “I’ve also heard from Providence recently, and LSU and Virginia Tech.”

Still believe he's a kid worth tracking this summer.. I agree. Jackson is my pick to be the 2016 version of Kaleb Johnson; under the radar somewhat entering his senior year and then makes a significant rise. He's got a lot of athleticism and upside. I hope the staff is still keeping an eye on him.

I still like Jackson as a backup option if we miss out on some of the other guards the staff likes.
