Coach John Lucas @coachjohnlucas1 3h3 hours ago Good to see Galen Robinson I'm the gym this morning after scoring 40pts yesterday. Could've stayed home. Wants to be great. #WillPower Sounds like the kind of guy we want with or without PJ.

Peak also only played one year in SC, prior to that he was at a powerhouse program.

Maybe, but the comp is super weak... Like SC weak? No, weaker. He plays in the Texas Private School League (TAPPS), which isn't a basketball hotbed. There are exceptions, but he's not even playing at the highest level in the League, though his team is a traditional power in their lower league.

Is TAAPS weaker than the league trey played in down in Miami? Fellas dropping 40 is still dropping 40. If it was so easy every team in the league would have a kid doing it.

No idea how TAPPS compares to Trey's league. I'm only speaking from my experience playing high school sports in Texas (though not in TAPPS). Just wanted to point out that Texas Private School teams aren't the pinnacle of the sport in Texas like they are on the East Coast. That doesn't mean that good players can't come from less prestigious leagues of course. Otto played in the smallest high school classification of Missouri, and he turned out just fine.

The question is more how he puts up 40 pts. Is it like Peak with a mix of penetration, mid-jumpers and good range to the 3-pt line and beyond, or is it just penetration and shooting over a 6'1" center?

...i think gu needs a player like him. now there may be better, but he has quickness and he can distribute. how many times has gu gotten befuddled by ultra-quick drive to the basket guards? but not quite sure if he's that level. still deciding, need to do some more scouting....

The games I watched I wasn’t impressed with his outside shooting at all. He didn’t make much from the perimeter, and spent most of his time attacking the basket in a CW wrecking ball type of way.. Also wasn’t as steady handling pressure as I would like to see… tts if he does get one but I think there’s a reason he doesn’t hold an offer For anybody interested in seeing full game video on Galen you can go to onepassaway.com and sign up for the free trial. I believe you get 2 weeks of access and you do not have to put in any billing info, just give an email address...

Galen can pass though. Personally I don't think outside shooting is much of any of our concerns. We need someone who can play defense, can handle the ball and pass it. Scoring isn't my concern with a guard at the moment.

Scoring isn't my concern with a guard at the moment. It should be, and why do you think he’s a good passer? I didn’t see much that lead me to believe he would be elite in the Dimes category as well. If he can’t knock down shots from the perimeter, his man is going to sag off and try and get in the passing lanes. No reason to guard close if you can’t shoot or your shooting is suspect. That makes those passes especially entry passes into the post more difficult imo He’s a smart player he can manage a game but when I watched it’s not as if he was killing it in assists either. Best attribute was his B-Ball IQ and Demeanor but I don’t see him getting on the floor consistently until Junior season and by then who knows what our team will look like and what our needs will be..
