Well I will say this I've been banging the drum over th last decade to get our staff to get their passports out and head north. Missed the boat... And Rautins can go whoop himself.

Now there's a slap on the wrist!
We need Dean Wormer to put UNC on double-secret probation.

Like any of us thought that the NCAA would make a decision before the UNC basketball season was over. . . .

As long as they keep Nova from winning, I care not...

If I read the link correctly, we can expect the NCAA to impose sanctions in or about January 2017. Just in time for the start of the ACC regular season.
North Carolina has four juniors on the roster. Of those four, one (Kennedy Meeks) has declared eligibility for the NBA draft, without signing an agent. Meeks (20.6 mpg/9.2 ppg) may be the proverbial canary-in-the-cave. If he hires an agent, that may be an indication that he expects UNC to not be eligible for post-season play. Of the other three juniors, only Isaiah Hicks (18.1 mpg/8.9 ppg) is a contributor; Kanler Coker (1.2 mpg/0.2 ppg) and Stilman White (1.8 mpg/0.2 ppg) are not likely to cause UNC to undertake the preemptive strike and self-impose penalties a la Syracuse and Southern Methodist, and I'd be surprised if they would go that route. I'd keep an eye on Hicks. . .he could consider transferring, and that could likewise be an indication of things yet to come in Chapel Hill.
It will also be interesting to see what impact, if any, appears with respect to Tar Heel recruiting.

Here is the Amended Notice of Allegations, as released this afternoon by UNC: 3qh929iorux3fdpl532k03kg.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/NOA_Amended_042516_NorthCarolina.pdfUnless I am missing something (on my quick initial review of the NoA), this looks like it is focused entirely on the women's basketball program's receipt of improper benefits, and the lack of cooperation from several named professors, and there is no reference at all to the men's basketball program. It may well be that Roy Williams and his team will skate away free on this.

The NCAA should be ashamed of itself.

The NCAA should be ashamed of itself. That would require that the NCAA cared at all about its actions and its public image. The upshot of it all seems to be that these courses were so deficient in their administration that all students taking the courses, not just the athletes, were similarly "benefited." In other words, the athletes received no impermissible benefit not offered to non-athletes. That is quite the indictment of a degree from the University of North Carolina. UNC is in the midst of a twelve-month probation imposed by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges in June 2015, and could still lose its accreditation; that would in turn lead to ineligibility for federal funds and loans for students. Query: Are non-accredited universities eligible to participate as full members of the NCAA?

Query: Are non-accredited universities eligible to participate as full members of the NCAA? Only if they are P5 football schools.

You're right, Vadi. I checked in with our friends at syracusefan.com, and they want an immediate reinstatement of all of the wins taken away from Boeheim, as well as a return of the scholarships and $25 million. They are also questioning the efficacy of the legal talent that the Manchurian Chancellor hired. It's actually rather amusing.
