5’10 Lead Guard out of Mississippi who recently transferred to Arlington Day in Florida. A couple recent articles mentioned that Gtown has offered and he is trying to set up an official. Main competition at this point seems to be Wisconsin and he mentioned he’s trying to set up an official there as well. Not much video on him tbh, led his team to a 6A championship last season and averaged 22 or so. The games I saw he looked like more of a dribble drive guy than a kid that’s going to kill you from the perimeter. Kid has a very good handle and is really quick. Spent most of the game trying to blow by his defender and didn’t have much trouble doing so. His game seems predicated on using that speed to get into the lane, and once he gets there he has a really solid upper frame that he uses to finish through contact. The transfer to Arlington Country Day was so he could focus on playing the PG position. Here’s a Scouting report on Hardnett: Video of Class 6 Championship Hardnett finished with 30. www.nfhsnetwork.com/events/mhsaa-ms/e0cbd6539f(Free, but you have to sign up to view)

Sounds like someone to monitor if he has elite quickness and handle, and at least one other very good program- Wisconsin- is interested. Recruits coming out of Mississippi have been hard to assess and under the radar at times, so I do not put too much into the lack of a high ranking.

Allegedly, we are visiting Hardnett today. Not sure if that's such a good sign with respect to Dozier.

Actually, D, I don't think it means one thing or another with respect to Dozier. Seems to me as if we are covering all the bases, as we should do. Hope I'm right on that.

I think if anything it sends a message to Dozier that we are indeed recruiting him as a lead guard. Any program can say "we are recruiting you as a pg" but that doesn't mean he'll actually be a PG once he hits campus. In our case, actions speak louder than words. Our recruiting priority is PG and the only players we are recruiting are PGs. We need a PG and we are going to bring in a PG. Its a subtle yet very important message we are sending to Dozier.

It's interesting that Hardnett says he has an offer and we know Galen Robinson does not. Sounds like we'd take Hardnett regardless of what Dozier does and could take both Hardnett and Robinson if Dozier goes elsewhere. But then you have 3 Pgs that are somewhat similar. Don't know how I feel about that.

Who really knows if he has a committable offer or not? Over the years we've seen lots of kids say they have an offer when they probably didn't. I doubt they would take any point guard until Dozier makes his decision.

Especially considering that Hardnett would likely have a year or two before he's called on to be a starter, I like getting a super quick guard that can finish but needs help shooting, as JT3 has shown he can improve players shooting.

No idea if this guy is any good or not. I do know you are either super quick or you are not. Shooting stroke can come from hard work, no matter who your coach is.

www.bigshots.net/big_shot-recap/big-shots-july-recap-all-american-camp/BIG SHOTS ALL AMERICAN MOST OUTSTANDING PLAYER: Jashire Hardnett, Louisiana Dynasty 2014 5’9 PG A power lefty guard that can score with the best of them off the dribble. Reminds me of a Travis Best type that plays a physical style and demands a double team or else scores. Holds 20+ offers and averaged 17 ppg for the event. athlonsports.com/hoop-exchange-florida-fall-festival-standoutsJahshire Hardnett: A 5'11" 2015 power guard, Hardnett has the physique of a young Jameer Nelson. Teamed in the backcourt with Lamonte Turner, he looked to score at this event more than necessarily create for teammates. At the next level, he will need to continue to develop his three-point shot, tighten his physique, and become more of a distributor. Still, there is room for compact lead guards who have a nose for scoring. After winning a state title in Mississippi, Hardnett came to ACD to improve his individual game and get more national exposure. He visited UTEP last month and is scheduled to take an official visit to Murray State this coming weekend. He said that he has been offered by Maryland, Georgetown, and Wisconsin since arriving at ACD. He is looking to set up official visits to Georgetown and Wisconsin.

Visit scheduled for the 21st of Nov…
Edit: Bohlin says he spoke with Jahshire and the date isn’t confirmed. Odd but Hardnett said either 21st or 28th, think we’re in Bahamas the weekend of the 28th so not too sure about that...

Is the Rex Morgan that is the coach of this team the same guy that played at Jacksonville with Artis Gilmore?

Well, according to linked in.com he went to Jacksonville University, so I'm going to hazard a guess and say yes.

Watching the youtube highlights of him. Wow he is fast. Like no one can stay in front of him fast. I say we offer him no matter the outcome with PJ. I definitely like what I saw.
I compare his game to someone else from his state. He is alot like Monte Ellis but the 5'10" version. He really has a knack for scoring.
