There were 42 men's team in the race. Villanova, a top 10 school in men's XC, finished 13th. Three of their top runners participated, but they tailed off from there. Georgetown will suffer from not having a low stick runner. But Carpenter, Murray, Leibold, and Green did not run today (at least not in this race).

FSU is a top 10 women's team, so this a good victory.

No Bile or Fahy for the men. Excellent effort by the women. FSU ran their top 5 runners. The Hoyas held out 6 of their top 9 runners (Katrina, Andrea, Sam, Kelsey, Annemarie and Autumn). Just so many quality runners on the Hoyas roster.

Nice finds. Interesting interviews. Definitely seems like the team is clicking. A quiet confident undertone.

Villanova split their squad between Lehigh and Washington. Their Aussie sophomore Patrick Tiernan looked GOOD winning by 20 seconds over a strong field including last year's 4th place individual Futsum Zienasellassie (NAU). Their other guys in this race weren't overwhelming (http://www.rtspt.com/events/uw/wa_inv14/men.htm), but as you noted, Williamsz, McEntee, and Denault were at Paul Short. Unfortunately, for this year at least,I think our Hoyas are looking at a race for 2nd with Providence at Big East.

You're right, birdman as far as the Big East goes. The NCAA Regionals should be tough also, because we are standing 4th in the regional rankings. Pre-Nats will be big for at large votes.
