Less than three weeks, right? I know last year sucked, but who's excited for this year? I am.
Here's my reason: On January 19th, LJ Peak is going to dunk on JayVaughn Pinkston three plays in a row right before halftime. Afterwards, Pinkston, who before the game declared a future of NBA stardom for himself, runs crying into the locker room. Hoyas win 78-67 over the #14 ranked Wildcats.

What is Pinkston still doing at Nova? I could swear i saw him play in the Capital Classic with Starks, Lubick and Moses.

Between his freshman and sophomore year, DSR played 10 more minutes per game, increased his usage from 19.9% to 23.9%, was one of only two players defenses bothered to focus on, and his ORating jumped from 104.2 to 120.5 (only Austin Freeman as a junior had a higher ORating, and his usage rate was lower), his eFG% jumped from 48.9% to 52.7% and his FG%, 3PT% and FT% all increased (as did his free throw rate).
He is now in better shape than last year and defenses won't be able to concentrate solely on him. He is going to wreck college basketball this year.

My mushy brain was starting to hurt reading the numbers but the closing snapped me back to reality. C'mon November!!

Non-numerical version: Last year, DSR played as well as Austin did as a junior, only rather than his team getting worse (like Austin's did b/w his junior and senior year), his team is getting better. Also, DSR didn't get diabetes, as far as I know, but instead got into much better shape.

Bring this season on please. I've been in sports hibernation all year. This team does have the talent to potentially be a great one, but a lot of questions would have to be answered. I'd like to see Trawick, Hopkins, and Bowen really surprise people in their final season. I'd love to see the recruits prove that they can contribute. DSR... just keep doing what you do. And the biggest question of them all, Josh Smith. Can he stay on the floor and will he play harder than he ever has before? If all of these are a yes, then it should be a fun season :-)

How strict is the "student-only" thing?

How strict is the "student-only" thing? They usually check for student IDs.

They just sent an email invitation to athletic donors of $50 or more. You have to claim your ticket through Eventbrite. The number is limited, so I would act on it if you can. Otherwise, you can try to get in when it starts at 8. In the past, it was pretty easy to get in without ID. You just had to wait until students were seated.
