Has been quoted as saying that Kentucky is his dream school and is only going to continue to blow up nationally. I'm not holding my breath. After this summer they might be after him.

Fultz has also been over to nearby Georgetown this year, lauding the Hoyas as well. Previously, he took campus visits to Louisville, West Virginia and Xavier. He’s unsure where he’s heading next, but noted how he’d like to visit “all the schools that have offered me.” Two to watch out for as Fultz recruitment moves along, though, are Arizona and Washington, the latter in particular. Fultz said he definitely wants to check out the West Coast schools and wouldn’t mind playing 3,000 miles from home. “I really haven’t made any firm decisions about visits or timeframes or anything like that yet,” Fultz said. “My main focus is on the season right now. maryland.scout.com/story/1508410-fultz-has-a-rapport-with-terps?s=174

Hoyas 247 talked with Fultz after their win yesterday (when GU was in attendance). Any idea what he said or how we stand?

All resources need to be exhausted on getting him until he says he isn't coming here......Perfect guy to bring in when DSR leaves.
I know it will be dissected but the best comparsion of where I see his game and where it is going is Bradley Beal.

Second time I've seen Markelle say Kentucky is his favorite team. Since time is scarce, I would not put a full court press on this guy. Kentucky is a far diff type of team than us, so shows what he values. Plus, kentucky gets whoever they want.

I say still push for him. He is local, so it is not like the staff is going to the ends of the Earth just to scout him. There is always a chance.

I don't want us to focus on Fultz as our #1 guard recruit for your stated reasons, and I don't want us to slow play others more likely to come here (i.e. Jackson) in favor of him. That being said, as others have pointed out Markelle is local so it won't take a lot of time and resources to keep an eye on him. He's a great talent so keep pushing for him, but don't wait for him to decide before we offer Jackson.

When a top kid says UK is his dream school he's telling other elite programs they need to step their game up.

Kentucky has a gravitational pull that is beyond anything the world of college basketball has ever seen. Someone needs to put an end to it, because it is absolutely killing the game and fairness.

While I don't want to derail the topic at hand I don't think UK is doing anything different than 95% of top programs. They are just doing it better and the ncaa is turning a blind eye to it.
We have chosen not to compete in that arena.

Hate to break it to you, but I'd venture to say that a good number of the players on our team, and most of the kids we recruit would go to Kentucky if given the offer.

That said, and this is a complementary point not a counter point, Georgetown does have a distinctive appeal/recruiting pitch. Most of our commits are quiet, quick and without a lot of drawn out competition. What we are offering is often something that our recruits know they want and they want it enough that they don't really both playing out the string. In general, it's a great place to be in my mind, but it also means that if it doesn't click with a recruit, I think we end up losing a lot of battles over players who don't immediately choose us.
