Was able to make it for the last 3 quarters. Special thanks to the lady from the Brown tailgate for giving me her (unused) tickets. Apparently I just missed running into DFW.
On one hand, it was pretty obvious that this was Brown's first game of the season. They looked unprepared for the game speed and were a step or two slow for big chunks of the game. Numerous instances of what I can only assume were QB/WR miscommunications. Their defense was more on the same page, but the 'being a step or two too slow' thing really hurt them here, as they could not close the distance and make the tackles that they could have on running plays. This was most evident on the 50+ yard run for the first touchdown, but it happened on many of the shorter gains as well.
On the other hand... those turnovers didn't cause themselves. Major credit is due to the Georgetown defense for stepping up big time and time again at key moments. Even when they got burned by big plays and penalties, they did not resign themselves to allowing points. Outstanding effort.
The offensive playcalling was more creative than it's been in awhile and did a pretty good job of burning clock.
Special kudos to Harry McCollum for a couple of good punts and a great fake punt scamper for a first down in the fourth to basically seal the game.
I was not expecting this performance at all. Sure, Ivy League teams tend to be vulnerable during their season opened, when their opponents have already played a few games, but still. Maybe we just need to have anniversary banquets/weekends for every game! That dinner tonight should be a lot more fun now.

"Sure, Ivy League teams tend to be vulnerable during their season opened, when their opponents have already played a few games,..."
And yet this is the first time we've capitalized on it. Princeton and cornell wins were mid season. Brown and yale games typically on season openers have all been losses before today.

On the other hand, they played Yale pretty close in 2012, 2011, 2010, and 2007. The last of these was the most remarkable, since Georgetown went 1-10 that year, while Yale went 9-1. The win against Princeton was the Tigers second game of the season, and only 6 days after their first.
