This thing is an early contender for Thread of the Year honors. What won thread of the year last year? I missed it. And who was poster of the year?

Thread of the Year was not awarded last year. I believe FLHoya took Poster of the Year based on nominations and so forth from posters, not including myself.

I figured it was a joke but I think its a great idea. There could be a whole HoyaTalk record book, pre-season and in-season rankings of posters based on quality of posts, a thread Hall of Fame.

You can say what you want about me. But one thing about me, I'm a MAN about mines. Yes, I was and AM an Esherick supporter, because I'm a Hoya Fan till I die. Yes, I said G'town was wrong for firing Esherick after they endorsed him two weeks prior to his dismissal. I also said it was cowardly for a certain select-group of people to go to great lengths to get him fired. I'm not afraid to say what I feel before or after the fact. I don't recant statements. I don't mince words. I don't need a peanut gallery or cheering section for me to speak up and voice my opinion. If I stand alone, I stand alone. If I have those who have my back, then they have my back. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. If I'm right, I'm right. I can't say the same thing for some people. So you can make your little snide remarks about me and slap yourselves high-fives while you play in your little sand-box. At least I know what I said, and I'll stand by it whether I'm right OR wrong. Can you? I really hope that the_way typed this in the rain, outside the HoyaTalk dorm, and after this outburst shouted "COWARDS!!!" BTW, anyone see school ties the other day?

Well, I guess the world is based on projections. You get what you EARN in this world. Not what you are projected to have or hypothetically want to get.I'm stupid because I look at whats there. Uncle Sam doesn't tax on what money I'm projected to make in a year, Uncle Sam taxes on what I earned. You know, something that actually occured. Not make believe. No hocus pocus. No mirage. I'm dumb because I analyze whats given, not whats manipulated. Project to the cows come home. You guys are a trip. Well I see the glee club is now in session. One thought equals everybody's thoughts. How sickening. Does anyone actually speak their own mind anymore, or are they extinct with the dinosaurs. As the saying goes: Liars figure. Figures don't lie. _____________ Fair enough. Can we hold you to this too? If so, you can no longer predict that B. Rush will not be an impact college player based upon your observations of his relatives. In fact, if you stick to this logic, that should eliminate about 90% of your posts. Sounds good to me.

You know, it occurred to me that it must be a pain in the behind for the coaching staff to recruit...I mean, projection is a fool's quest. Recruiting is just luck!

I'm afraid not Angus, please refer to this quoatation: So you can make your little snide remarks about me and slap yourselves high-fives while you play in your little sand-box. At least I know what I said, and I'll stand by it whether I'm right OR wrong. Can you? As you can see, even if/when Rush produces solid numbers in college, the_way will not back down from his point, because he'll "stand by it whether [he's] right OR wrong." BTW this is the guy who proclaimed "We are just debating here and having dialogue. Thats a beautiful thing." Awesome. If that's the case, I would hate to see the_way when he's in the midst of a belligerent, rambling, incoherent, totally illogical diatribe that belittles facts, figures and the observations of others and claims victory when others give up in total dispair. Now that would be totally frustrating.

What I have learned in this thread is that their is a contigent of people here that are very "close" should I say. If two of their friends see a green thumb, but their friends say its orange, then the rest of their friends will also say its an orange thumb even though it is quite obvious the thumb is green. Maybe one day some of you will learn what it means to be your own person.

It's tired, and I for one will be ignoring you until you grow up.

Just because a collection of people disagrees with you, does not mean that there is a conspiracy of opinion. If you believe every time that you find yourself in the minority of opinion that that is solely because the rest of us are following an ideology or a systematic persecution of yourself...well, you're correct. You got us. Guys, he caught us...we might as well come clean. Boy, that was entertaining while it lasted, but I guess we should tell him about our Society's meetings every Thursday night in the hollow of the old Elm. Yep, me SF, Jersey and other members of the Sacred Brotherhood meet under cover of darkness and during our conclave we discuss what our party line will be for the following week and strategies for systematically persecuting you. I know that is childish, but we're all insane and have nothing better to do than to pursue our sacred agenda.

Say, wait a minute, what's that pod flying at me? I'm hit! Gee, I feel better now. What's that, master? I and the rest of my breathren will now be taking over the Earth? OK!

I'd like to suggest that we have exhausted this topic. In fact, I think this is the perfect example of a thread deserving of the term "ad nauseum" to descibe how this topic has been... "discussed".
Let's voluntarily abandon it, or ask Dan to lock it down. And move on. Thanks

I'm pretty sure I want to die.
This is horrible. Everyone get over your persecution complexes.
And by everyone I mean _way. Nobody's out to get you, Mr. Individuality.
Nobody, that is, except me and my "friends" on the board (and I know a grand total of 1 other person).

Have you guys read "The Da HoyaTalk Code"? It depicts the ultraconservative Saxa Dei movement as a mysterious center of politial and talkboard power that tries to hide the historical truth of the Mods rise to power.
A must read!

It's not normal for a thumb to be orange or green, so instead of engaging in a pointless debate about it and wondering whether their diseased digits are the result of some vast conspiracy, they oughta just head to a hospital. And now mr the_way, if you'll just raise your arms above your head, we'll just slip this straitjacket on you. That's right. Nice and easy.
