First off, I love this site and all that you do. I totally get that we are getting this for free, but you all have bills to pay with this site and that comes from advertising.
But the past couple of weeks, I've been getting an increasing amount of pop up windows, and blaring videos automatically starting up whenever I go into threads. Anyone else experiencing this? Anything you all can do to change this?

Nope -- I think you may have some other adware that's been downloaded onto your computer.

Nope -- I think you may have some other adware that's been downloaded onto your computer. I tend to agree. I view the site on three browsers across three different setups (mobile, laptop, desktop) and I haven't seen any such pop-ups.

Agreed, I've never seen such a popup.

Thanks for responses. I'm getting videos in the bottom right of the page non stop. I'll try to figure it out on my end

Yes, actually. There's one spammy page in particular that seems to come up frequently - I'll jot the details down next time it comes up. Doesn't happen with any other site, so I think it is ProBoards-specific, at least.
I don't get the videos, though. Bottom right hand corner is where ProBoards places some ads, though - I'm looking at one for Xfinity right now. Maybe some of the ads are now getting autoplay videos?

Yes, I was also subjected to AUTOPLAY videos on Chrome when browsing on my laptop today. Has never happened before, so I suspect the OP here is on to something -- maybe a new default AUTOPLAY feature with respect to the lower right ads.
Admins, can you look into this? I opened several threads at once today, and the cacophony of sound was a major pain in the (r)ear.

I don't see any autoplay feature active in the admin screens. I'll check the support board as time allows to see if others are reporting this.
Can you tell us what you are viewing it on (OS, browser, type of device) and then check it on a mobile phone? This might narrow the suspects.

Hope I'm not violating any rules. If you go to CNET downloads and download a free copy of malwarebytes it will likely take care of the problem. One of my children got some pretty malignant adware from a kids game site and neither Windows Defender nor Norton identified it as a problem but malwarebytes removed it right away. Hope this helps. I haven't had any annoying adware on my computer either.

Definitely does not happen in mobile for me. Only happened yesterday for the first time on Windows 7 OS laptop running Chrome. I don't use that computer often -- this was the first time in months, as I'm usually on a Mac-Chrome or Vista-Chrome setup -- but it's not an irregular one for people. Makes me think, like the new Facebook feature that practically necessitates turning off Autoplay on the News Feed videos in order to regain control of your processing speed.

I get nothing. But then again, I run Malwarebytes and AdBlockPlus. Bet you all have picked up malicious malware.

I only use Ghostery which helps block all those trackers and nonsense. You can decide on the level of blocking you want but it helps keep a lot of ads away without doing away with them entirely like adblock...a lot of people depend on those ads for an income stream. On the issue with the pop-ups, I've had no issue.

It's not the site. I tried it this morning on XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, iOS 7.1.2, Android 4.4.4, and Mavericks. Not a single pop-up. Malwarebytes will be your friend in this regard. SuperAntiSpyware works pretty well too. If you're using a Windows machine, Microsoft Security Essentials (free) is surprisingly good after you get the malware eradicated. For Mac, Sophos (also free) works fairly well too.
