DSR is not one of the 15 best returning guards in the country. I grant you that it's subjective to a degree. But, in our offense, please name even the 14 ahead of him. Even disregarding the offensive scheme, he's in that conversation at a minimum. Not necessarily as to how he projects at the next level but as a college guard, I can't think of 10 guards I'd take over him much less 14. I'm not the most knowledgeable guy but I also padded the 10.

Problem with DSR is his lack of defense, which puts him further back, as he does lack of athleticism to defend quick guards. But he will score for sure.

Rebounding is a defensive skill and DSR is very good at that.

He also seems to get a lot of steals, in addition to the boards. I'm surprised at the lack of support for DSR on this Board,( in terms of this discussion). I think the guy is as skilled as most any guard I saw in the country last year. Just lacking the elite athleticism, that is more important in the NBA, than college.

I love me some DSR.
MCI did a great job summarizing, but the way the guy finishes through contact, and his body control to have such success on his pull-up jumper no matter what preceded it, is special to me. Looking forward to another two years of it.

No, it's just that DSR made some posters and former posters (now lurkers), who were bashing his recruitment and skills, look like fools. One left the Board because most of us here didn't see it the same way (or something like that).

His D was much improved last year although not perfect. It was really bad freshman year like most freshman. If he makes yet another leap and becomes a solid on-ball defender, he is easily top 10. My fear is he leaves after his junior year to go the undrafted route. I think a lot of guys with little left to prove statistically have done this in years past thinking their odds wouldn't change after senior year. While this is true for most, I think kids forget that they get a degree after four years and the foreign route is always there. There aren't a lot of guys 6'3 and under in the league and those that do exist are super quick.

PoY and winning a title, I don't think DSR would leave (and even then who knows). Now that probably won't happen (season hasn't started, still time to hope!) but as many of us believe, he should have incredible next two seasons. I hope he has gone to other "little guys" that have played to the league and asked about what made them successful. I can guarantee he got a chance to talk to AI (who he is bigger then!) and ask about his experiences on the court...obviously AI's success was based upon his athleticism and quickness but I'm sure he still had insights on how to score against bigger players. Hell, maybe AI taught DSR his cross-over. Either way the next two years with DSR and the players that JTIII put around him will be fun to watch.
