Is that AI with the headband and ball in his hands? Things never change! Thanks for the historic photo!

Big John's 6'10", right? Check out the middle of the photo, back row. Not a surprise, but Brad Hayes and Roy tower over him. Do you shrink as you age?!

Was Craig Esherick in attendance?

Admins, will the University make available a video of the dinner? We are as enlightened about that as you. In other words, no idea. I wouldn't be surprised if some version of it showed up on georgetown.edu or the Hoya athletics youtube channel. Rest assured if we hear anything it will show up here.

Was Craig Esherick in attendance? If not we missed a golden opportunity to welcome back the man who was JT2's right hand man for ___teen years.

I am enjoying the reports of the gathering of so many past members of the Hoya men's basketball community. Don't think we'll ever see such an array of our choicest memories of Hoya men's basketball past. Thanks to all for the descriptions and photos.
One other thought, however. The Thompson IAC is intended to house facilities for many other women's and men's sports teams, not just men's basketball. So the question arises: where were the celebrations for women's basketball and men and women's soccer, track, football, etc.?

During the groundbreaking, one of the members of the women's swim team spoke, as a representative of the student-athlete governance group, and one of the lead donors spent much of her time speaking about women's soccer.
The evening's event was really all about John Thompson Jr. And his contribution to the school. They even took the opportunity to induct him into the school hall of fame. They asked all past men's basketball players to stand - by decade. So more about JT than building - although he and JT III took the opportunity to encourage giving for the building. Nevertheless, it should be noted that women's basketball players also attended.
Both events were really first rate.

The entire woman's basketball team was in attendance. While not all the teams get new locker rooms, all of the teams will be served by the enhanced medical and training facilities and study facilities.

My wife and I sat at a table with the head coaches for both men's and women's lax and a member of the men's lax team. There seemed to be a lot of other coaches and athletes there, though for some reason, no one quite stands out like a 7 footer.

Two delightful young ladies from the Hoya softball team were at our table. This was a very inclusive, all-sport event (with Irene Shaw's "this is for the girls" speech in the morning , and not her husband speaking, a very nice move). There was appropriate focus on honoring JT , but a vey balanced set of speeches/participants representing the athletic departtment and student athletes a a whole

Glad the other sports, men and women, were represented. Thanks for clarifying.
