Well then, now that they've shaded over the external vantage points, it truly is a Georgetown practice facility.

Guess some local media got a tour of the TAC today. Here's Standig's article for Scouts.. Lots of pics and commentary www.scout.com/college/georgetown/story/1695011-new-georgetown-athletic-center-meets-the-hypeThompson's office sits empty as he continues to work out of McDonough. He won't be much longer. The 21st century is 16 years old and the Hoyas have finally arrived. Here's a look inside the John R. Thompson Jr. Athletic Center, starting with the outside, if that makes sense. ** Check back with Scout.com for more pictures plus comments from Thompson about the upcoming season. Might as well bookmark the homepage while you're here. More details about what's going on here in the days ahead.

From the article linked above
"Several walls down the long corridor include a collage of pictures of notable moments in the history of Georgetown athletics. By downloading an app -- again, this is 21st century Georgetown -- visitors will be able to put their smartphones up to the pictures to learn more about these people and moments in time."
I don't want to take away from his clicks by quoting bunch of things but there's a lot of cool info like this in the article if you follow the link...

"Many former Georgetown basketball players donated generously toward the construction of the building. Patrick Ewing, for instance, contributed $3.3 million in a joint donation with longtime sports agent David Falk; Roy Hibbert and Jeff Green each gave $1 million."
Awesome!
BTW, Oct. 6th is a big recruiting opportunity! AI needs to be part of the welcoming party!

I haven't really followed the construction too closely, and I'm not sure what I was expecting, but this looks incredible. A colossal upgrade over anything we've ever had. I'm sure if you look hard enough there are some things you could find that other schools' facilities have that this doesn't, but as far as I can tell this looks amazing and seems exactly the right thing for Georgetown. Glad to see it getting good publicity too. Kudos to all involved.
