Anyone want to take a stab at predicting the biggest surprise of the 2014-15 season?
I think I will go with:
Bradley Hayes makes an impact (not saying good or bad yet)
Honorable mention:
Josh Smith plays less than 10 games (contributing to above prediction)

I'll go with: DSR wins BE POY. Would that count as a big surprise? Maybe in balla world. If not, I'll counter you and say Josh is a multiionaire by next July.

Or: Jabril plays so good that he makes one of the all-BE team.

PR - what I mean is that Bradley Hayes gets real minutes (not just spot duty), thereby making an impact (good or bad).

I'll say Hoyas lead the Big East in FG%.

DSR gets the Nat. POY (am I doing it right?) Looking at a few of the early pre-season All-American lists and DSR is nowhere to be found. One list complied either 50 or 75 names, including the starting point guard of Villanova, and yet still no mention of DSR. Not even an honorable mention. My big surprise is more from a national standpoint then my own. Despite not starting the season in the Top 25 these Hoyas will make it past the first weekend of the NCAA tournament.

I believe that our rate of fouling on defense will decline significantly - i.e. return to historic levels - in 14-15.

Paul White leads the team in assists... Just for kicks, would love to see the 5 freshman on the floor at one time. I actually think they'd do okay together.

Hayes making a significant contribution, making up for Josh's disappointment.

Hoyas run and press so consistently and so successfully that RDF returns to the board and earns nickname Happytime Sunshine Man.

I'm going with LJ Peak as second leading scorer on the Hoyas and Big East All Rookie selection.

Based on the way people are predicting the future, Josh doing well would be a surprise to many of you. As long as academics are not an issue, I'm confident he will be a fairly significant contributor this year. I also think one or more of the freshman will exceed expectations.

I believe that our rate of fouling on defense will decline significantly - i.e. return to historic levels - in 14-15. it better. No. We should play defense the way we want to play defense. If that means that under these ABSURD new "you breath too hard and it is a foul" rules that we lose some games as a result, I say LOSE THE GAMES. There has to be push back on this nonsense. Sorry for the rant- it just makes my blood boil to watch games officiated that way, and to hear Jay Bilas and company spread the lie that college basketball had turned into quasi professional wrestling and "something had to be done."

Trawick is the overall best player on the team.
