Not shocked--no institution that hires a man to coach basketball that wears turtlenecks with a suit could be clean

Nobody really cared when the same program was negligent in the death of student volunteer a few years ago. Why would they care about something as "harmless" as this.

It is inconceivable to me that you can have a football program with its need for almost 100 athletes, at a school whose SAT average of 1460 is now only 40 points shy of the 1500 sported by Harvard, Yale and Columbia. I think a university can give super heavy duty academic support to the 15 or so players you need for top level basketball, but God just did not create enough people who can run 4.5 40 yard dashes and bench press 450 pounds and score high enough to do the work at a school that now has essentially an Ivy League profile.
I think people will realize that Notre Dame just cannot keep up with the SECs, Ohio States and Michigans (I read in the Chicago Sun Times that Michigan football players have an ACT average of 16) of the world any longer. If Notre Dame can do it more power to them.

From as far back as Rockne's sick son to the Gipper to Joe Theesman, the Sourh Bend hype machine has never stopped. Play like a cheat today.
