Supposedly Tacko has grown another inch to 7'6". Can we update the thread title? Has he grown to 7'7" yet?

You guys are simply incorrigible! But on a serious note, who has been the tallest center in GU's history? Was Pat Ewing 7'2"? At that height he was still very agile--and dominant.

Pascal Fleury may be the tallest ever. While Patrick was listed a 7', I always had my doubts.
Dikembe was clearly taller than Patrick. Ben Gillery was large as well.

Although JT2 always insisted on having Dikembe listed in the program as 6 ft 11. He was quite obviously 4 inches taller than Zo.

I remember hearing Big John scream out "DIKEMBE" so loud you could hear the Cap Center shake. Poor guy worked so hard but had a hard time at first adjusting to American basketball. Good thing he caught on.

Coaches routinely fudge the height of their players. How tall does Tacko need to be before we start referring to him as 8 feet tall?
On another note, we need this young man. Coaches, make it happen!

We need a center so tall that while the young man could figuratively look up to Hibbert, Hibbert would have to literally look up to him. Tacko could be that young man.

Would definitely have perhaps the most resounding impact on Georgetown basketball. The coaches need to let him know that we will create a water fountain on campus and call it Tcko Falls.

If this team stays together for 3 years with tacko as the center piece ...we are FF bound.

I finally got around to watching this...JESUS. YES PLEASE. Looks like he could have a 7'10" wingspan too. Honestly, with this kid's size, if he has 1 decent year in CBB the NBA is going to come knocking on potential alone. I'm also quoting this video so all of you can see it. He actually had some moves too by the end of it, not just dunking from 2ft away and pulling down entire baskets.

Nice thing is he keeps the ball up. If I remember correctly, that's something Roy struggled with early.

Why is there only one blocked shot on that video? Can he do anything on defense?
Still would rather we had gone full court press on Chukwu last year.

I just went throught the boxscores of E1T1 @ Peach Jam. I think folks need to temper their expectations based on the amount of playing time he received playing againts top flight competition. At best he recieved 6 minutes of playing time, at worst 2. By the boxscores he scored one bucket on his one shot attempt in 5 games. He fouled at a higher rate. The boxscores do register a few rebounds and a few blocked shots. Of course his team had Simmons in the front court getting most of the PT but very limited minutes for a giant leads me to think he has some catching up to do.
