I remember a startling, posterizing, rim rocking, baseline jam by Jaren Jackson in a tense Big East game that came completely out of nowhere. When Jabril came aboard, I was kind of hoping he would develop into a Jaren Jackson type.

Jackson Jr. listed Georgetown, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Xavier as other schools showing significant interest at this point. His father, Jackson Sr., is an assistant coach with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBDL. "I rely on him a lot," Jackson Jr. said. "He tells me what he's been through and how to work through recruiting and not let it get to my head. (He tells me) definitely not to rest on my laurels and to keep working every day to be the best." Jackson Jr. said he doesn't know yet when he plans to make a college commitment. He is averaging 8.7 points and 5.3 rebounds this season for Park Tudor, which is the defending Class 2A state champion and again ranked No. 1. "I think I'm doing the things that can help our team win," Jackson Jr. said. "I'm trying to get us to our main goal, which is a state championship." Park Tudor coach Kyle Cox said Jackson Jr. is progressing as expected. "He's really developing that post game," Cox said. "When he realizes what's a good 3 and a bad 3 that's the next step for him. He's a really good shooter when he shoots in rhythm. His mental capacity for the game is getting better. He understands how we have to play. It's going to be a great jump for him sophomore to junior year. People are going to be wowed by him.” www.indystar.com/story/recruiting-central/2015/02/13/recruiting-notes-jaren-jackson-jr-update-recruitment-eron-gordon-jimmy-king-paul-scruggs/23358663/

I sat next to Jaren Sr. In Jesse Mann's Moral Development class. He was a very nice guy and seemed to be a diligent student (believe he was valedictorian of his HS). I saw him again at the 2007 Final Four. I did not get the sense that he held a grudge against Gtown at that time, though I don't think he was crazy about the Princeton Offense (which was much more Princetonian then compared to now).
It would be great to bring in another second generation Hoya.

I believe his dad was lead recruiter for Jeff Green back in the day.

Maybe that is a good sign, Jaren Sr's jersey number was 34, wasn't it? Jaren wore #21.--Admin

Yes, #21. My user name comes from Sleepy and Jaren who both wore #21. Didn't Daymond Jackson also wear 21? I will never forget his missed late game dunk that Raf called a "real ham n egger"...

He and Porter would be an solid base for the '17 class. LOL. The #2 and #34 would be a "solid base". You think? That would be one of the best classes we ever had by itself.

Anybody know if Jaren Jr. was at Hinkle tonight? Also, wasn't there a rumor at one point that DSR had a relative that was a D1 prospect from the Indy area?

In one of prospects threads it said that DSR has a little brother that can play. He was decked in Gtown gear in the pic. I'm not sure what level of prospect the little brother is.

Mateo Rivera. He's a point guard in Indy and class of 2017. Think he's supposed to be very good.

Scored 12 in a Playoff game yesterday (4 3’s in the loss) but not sure DSR’s lil Bro is a HM at this point tbh…
