Anybody know if Jaren Jr. was at Hinkle tonight? Also, wasn't there a rumor at one point that DSR had a relative that was a D1 prospect from the Indy area? Yea it's his little brother Mateo

From what little I could tell online, looks like Mateo Rivera is a starting guard, as a sophomore, on a top 10 team in Indianapolis. At least at one point has been considered a top 5 player in his class in the state. And from some of his social media posts, it's very clear that he idolizes his older brother playing for the Hoyas.

Thanks Yaboy - great to know we are getting a visit. His dad must be encouraging him to at least consider GU. Maybe when he comes in, meets JT and JT3, hears the history - including his dad's role, sees the plans and progress for the new IAC, meets the current team, and experiences life at GU and in DC, his interest level will rise. There is something very special about GU that includes and also goes well beyond basketball. His dad, Zo, Pat Sr, and Reggie all know this - and sent their kids here as a result. Young Jackson may well have an eye opening experience. At least the possibility will be available if/when he gets on campus. Good work - and THANKS to JJ Senior.

He says it's an honor to have GU recruiting him. His Dad is excited about it. He says that he hopes to receive a GU offer. He also mentioned his dad being coached by "Coach Thompson's Dad".

Hopefully dad will pay his way and we don't have to use up a scholarship. Better yet, let's give him a scholarship his frosh season, then ask him to give it up!

I really feel that this young man is going to be a very good player; perhaps not a star, but a contributor from day one who will be a force as an upperclassman.

Jaren Sr was a grinder and because of his hard work, managed to stay in the league for over a decade. The guy made a good living in the league but didn't come close to having the career earnings of Othella much less Alonzo or Dikembe or Ewing. Jaren fought for his roster spot every single year until he signed a multi year deal with the Spurs. If i were coach, the one thing i would absolutely never ever do would be to ask Jaren Jr to give up his scholarship. It's the ultimate slap in the face. Seriously. (and i doubt JT3 would ever do that)

I hadn't read the Williams thread. I apologize for adding an irrelevant post. Looks like most posters are in agreement.
Definitely happy that we are going after Jaren Jr. It'll be interesting to see what schools recruit him and what schools stay away. Should be as clean of a recruiting scenario as there is considering Jaren Jr's mom is on the NCAA infractions committee.
