Some alumni and current students will probably contest their disciplines at the USATF National Track and Field Meet in Sacramento from June 26-29. To do that they have to be qualified at a high level. The Portland Track Festival over the weekend was a meet designed to get some qualifying times. The 800m (women) had current students Andrea Keklak and Sabrina Southerland trying for the qualifying time. The time in the women's 800m is 2:04.00. Sabrina has a 2:03.xx from HS, so that might be enough depending on the time period for qualifying. Anyway she and Andrea ran in the first (fast) heat:
1 Grace, Kate Oiselle 2:02.00R 2 Leinert, Shannon Oregon Track Club 2:02.01R 3 Johnson, Lauren Nike Otc Elite 2:02.19R 4 Moore, Erica Brooks 2:02.22R 5 Wright, Phoebe Nike 2:02.47R 6 Mackey, Katie Brooks 2:02.49R 7 Brown, Sarah New Balance 2:04.20 8 Keklak, Andrea Georgetown 2:04.44 9 Southerland, Sabrina Georgetown 2:06.23

Darren, Dylan, and Max ran the 3000mSC at this meet also. Qualifying time is 8:40 (although they might accept others depending on how many have met the qualifying mark).

Amos and Cole ran in the 1500m. The qualifying mark is 3:39.0 for the 1500m (or 3:56.5 for the full mile). Amos and Cole were in the 2nd heat and both got very good times, but not close to the qualifier:

Rachel is a glutton for punishment as she ran in this meet too, a day after the NCAA finals. The qualifying time is 4:13 for 1500m and 4:34.0 for the mile. Katrina ran a 4:33 mile recently, so she should be qualified, and Rachel ran 4:10.xx last year, so have to wait to find out the qualifying time. Good times in this meet by Katrina and Rachel, but no qualifying time. 1 Hasay, Jordan Nike Oregon Project 4:11.23A 2 Bizzarri, Angela Brooks Beast 4:11.63A 3 Kesselring, Anne Oregon Track Club 4:12.02A 4 Mergaert, Amanda Oiselle 4:12.83A 5 Morton, Shannon Virginia Tech 4:13.29A 6 Coogan, Katrina Georgetown 4:14.35A 7 Legg, Kristy Unattached 4:14.95A 8 Holt, Hillary College of Idaho 4:14.98A 9 Rodgers, Christina Spirit of Oregon 4:15.82A 10 Schneider, Rachel Georgetown 4:16.85A 11 Friday, Becca Rogue Ac/ Adidas 4:17.12A 12 Findley, Kristen Rogue Ac/Adidas 4:17.17A 13 Carlyle, Laura Oiselle 4:17.73A 14 Kanuho, Rochelle Brc/Adidas 4:21.30A 15 Feldman, Greta Nike Otc Elite 4:25.09A

The Hoyas (both students and alumni), who are going to be running in the USATF meet are Katrina Coogan, Dylan Sorensen, Liam Boylan-Pett, Sabrina Southerland, and Andrew Bumbalough. I am not sure if Treniere Clement Moser will run; she was scratched out of the 5000m, but might run the 1500m.

Treniere was qualified in the 800m, 1500m, and 5000m, and she scratched in all three. Katrina Coogan also scratched.
EDIT: Treniere scratched in the 800m and 1500m, but was accepted in the 5000m. Katrina was not previously accepted in the 5000m, but was qualified and accepted in the 1500m; now she has been accepted in the 5000m, so she scratched out of the 1500m and will run the 5000m.

Tonight four Hoyas are in action. In the men's 3000m SC Dylan Sorensen is in the first heat (along with American record holder and Max Darrah look alike Evan Jager). In the men's and women's 5000m finals are Andrew Bumbalough and Katrina Coogan and Trenier Clement Moser.

He went to the lead 600m out, trying to break the field and take the sting out of Lagat's kick. Unfortunately, when you're racing perhaps the best kicker in the history of distance running, that's easier said than done. Still good to see Andrew feeling better after his nagging injury in March/April.

Yes, he said he had a glute injury in March/April that didn't cause him to lose fitness, but affected his stride. With the coming of May he bounced back. He will probably run the 5000m in the Diamond League in Glasgow on July 11.

Close upon the heels of the National meet is the Junior meet. As far as I can tell, there will be three runners with Georgetown connections: Nathaniel Gordon, running the 800m; Jonathan Green, running the 10000m; and recruit Joe White, also running the 800m.
