Moultrie is the kid we really want in that class. You like him better that AC POD? I do without a doubt.

Are these kids really choosing teams based on shoe companies? How does that work if they are not supposed to be receiving compensation from them? Hahahaha - oh wait, you were serious. Dead serious. Are they paying their handler? Why waste money on a sophmore/junior in high school? The chance they become the next Lebron/Durant is ridiculously slim.

The chance they become the next Lebron/Durant is ridiculously slim. Read the article in SI last week about Curtis Malone, the money the shoe companies paid his "program', and the control the coaches and the programs have over many of these kids. A dirty, dirty business in many places.

this is huge. too many local stars have no connection with the university and go elsewhere. meanwhile i feel like other schools are always getting commitments from kids that have "been fans since they were little." nice to have this angle in our favor this time....

It's great to hear that from Cowan. After all, it can only help. I do think we sometimes forget where we had this advantage before -- Markel and Roy come to mind. We've lost some guys who claimed it of us as well. And we've gotten guys who had other schools' favorites growing up -- Monroe.

Although Roy and Markel weren't huge recruits at the time. (Markel was towards the bottom of the top 100 and Roy wasn't even ranked.) And Monroe is kind of the big exception to the rule, but point taken. I just feel like other areas have a much stronger pull for recruits to stay close whereas if you're a top DC recruit it's not some foregone conclusion you're staying local. Might just be my own cognitive bias though....

Anthony Cowan retweeted D1 Circuit @d1circuit 2h2 hours ago Georgetown/Wisconsin is a HIGH LEVEL basketball game. Hoyas are incredibly underrated this year, loaded with EYBL alums.
