Nice to see ESPN bungling this coverage as well. This comment comes from an unabashed Messi fan, but did anyone at ESPN actually watch the Argentina game? Messi was, with the exception of that one moment of brilliance, absolutely pedestrian against Bosnia, spending much of the game floating throughout midfield or being easily dispossessed. He is fabulous, his goal was fabulous but that game was not. No matter to ESPN whose preconceived story line was Messi brilliance, thus it was also the take away talking points. Pathetic lack of observation or intellectual integrity. Given the Syracuse ties, probably both. Like Ronaldo, Messi had at least 3 opponents hovering around him or between him and the Bosnia goal. It happens in all the WCs. The star players get the special treatment from the TV coverage and from the opponents. I expect Klinsmann to do the same when the US faces Ronaldo & Co. It would be Sweden-stupid not to...

We need to take care of business tonight and a few goals for differential would be helpful. Portugal will play better against us, this is more Germany's doing then their own. I'm still hoping for a Win/Draw/Draw. Maybe we can turn one of those Draws into a win if 1) we surprise Portugal or 2) Germany takes the last game off after already winning the group Yes, please! Take care of business tonight and pressure Portugal. Maybe by the Germany game, they'll be through and will give a helping hand to fellow countryman Klinsmann. It was a pleasure to see Germany passing the ball around like if they were throwing it with their hands. It will be fun to watch them the rest of the way. If there's a weakness (if you can call it that) on that team, it's the defense and Portugal did/could not pressure it today.

Yes!!!
Awesome game.
Watching the anthem when they panned to Dempsey, my brother said "that's a bad man".
He proved it with the early goal and then playing through the broken nose.

quite a remarkable performance for a gritty, injured, USA team. Terrific victory after relinquishing the lead they held for 81 minutes! But what a bummer seeing Landon Donavan as a hired gun for TV, sitting in LA in a suit instead of being in Rio in a uniform.
GO USA! and well done John Brooks!

That Brazil vs Mexico game was excellent. This has been an amazing World Cup so far, only boring game (to me) has been yesterday's Iran/Nigeria game.

Ochoa is a hero in Mexico's what-have-done-for-me-lately soccer world. Today's if-you-only-can-watch-one-live game is Chile v. Spain. If Chile keeps to its style, it will be an open, flowing, back-and-forth game. Planning lunch for 3:00 P.M....

And Spain met with the Chile con Carnage (stolen from the tweeters) and the defending champ is going home.

England now has no chance to advance after Costa Rica's victory over Italy. Congrats to our CONCACAF "bros", helping make us one of the stronger federations so far and punching above our world rankings (only the South American is doing better).

Crazy game in our group going on right now between Germany and Ghana. 2-2 at the 78 minute mark with 4 goals in a 15 minute period of the second half. If Ghana pulls this out it will be huge for the group and USA's chances. Obviously best plan still is to beat Portugal tomorrow.

US needs to take care of business tomorrow and win. Two CONCACAF teams in after two games... What a WCup!

Tough call for USA v POR on Sunday.
Prediction: No Jozy, but I'll go with 1-0 USA. Corner header from Beckerman early second half.
