Days of Future Past was really, really good. I was surprised at what an incredible job they did at keeping a post-apocalyptic movie light hearted. There was a lot of guff on the internets after the Quicksilver pictures came out, but he ended up being one of the best parts of the movie. Agreed. One of the Quicksilver scenes was a highlight of the film. I also really liked some of the new "future" characters.

I thought the Quicksilver scenes in X-Men were great, but really looking forward to seeing them both together. On that note, anyone know how Marvel Pictures pulled off being able to include them in Avengers 2? I thought mutants were verboten in the MCU because Fox owned them. You can't make them not mutants. Also, Apocalypse is one of my favorite villains, so...yay. Not that it was much of a secret.

I think that, since Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are so connected to both X-Men and the Avengers, making it really hard to determine who should get their rights,, Fox and Marvel ended up agreeing that both companies could use them, but Marvel can't reference any of their mutant history, so they won't be mutants in the Avengers they'll be something else.

From what I read, TBird is right. I would've loved to have been a fly in the room with lawyers arguing about their classification as a mutant, first appearances in the X-Men and Pietro's membership in X-Factor vs. their membership in the Avengers.
Also, DOFP took in $111M, which is a great sign for them continuing the franchise past Apocalypse.
Hopefully they find someone decent to replace Singer. Also, why couldn't what's happening in Bryan Singer's personal life have happened to Brett Ratner?

I checked in to see if there were replies to my last post that required response. There were no replies on the merits, only ad hominem invective. “The ad hominem argument is where you seek to discredit someone’s argument by drawing attention to …[the person’s] motive, character, authority, education, age, state of mind, etc., rather than showing what is wrong with the argument itself. It is one of the most common logical fallacies and ways to derail an argument.” abagond.wordpress.com/2010/09/24/ad-hominem-argument/ Click on the site to see the illustration entitled Logical Fallacies: A picture of two web-footed birds, the first with this caption: “We share many genetic characteristics with ducks because we have evolved from a common ancestor.” The second and larger bird, leaning into the face of the first, has its beak wide open with this caption: “You’re close-minded and stupid and you eat corn!. You don’t know anything!” At one time, to obtain a Georgetown degree, it was necessary to pass a course in Logic. Is that still a requirement for a Georgetown degree?

I see what you did there with the implied ad hominem attack at the end.

What do people think of Brolin as Thanos in Guardians? My initial reaction is that he could be really good.

I'm for it. He's got some gravitas and I could see him doing crazy.
Benicio del Toro as The Collector was a really good choice too.

At least from the IMDB, it looks like Thanos will be all CGI. It has three actors as voice-only : Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon, Vin Diesel as Groot, and Josh Brolin as Thanos.

For the love of Pete enough with the comic book movies. Can we have movies for adults again please? Even as a kid I hated comic books...and now I still have to deal with this nonsense?

In fairness, we've also been discussing comic book TV shows.

Well, you could go see Mom's Night Out. It got good reviews from the original poster because Patricia Heaton and Abortion.
