I always thought he got a raw deal up in NY, deserves another head coaching position. A raw deal? He got a $1.2 million settlement to walk away from a train wreck he helped create. Certainly he was scapegoated a little -- Binghampton did sign off on every recruit he brought in and I realize a coach can't control the actions of all his players-- but he's gotta take some responsibility for recruiting kids that were known to be bad news and then not mentoring them to stay out of trouble. If nothing else he created an embarrassment for the university and destroyed the basketball program. While I don't think his integrity should be maligned and I like that Georgetown gave him a second chance, I wouldn't say he got a raw deal by any means. Binghampton firing their coach after that scandal seems reasonable to me. I think Broadus is probably grateful for JT3 for bringing him back into the fold and realizes that getting another shot at a head coaching job would be very difficult given his history. I don't expect him to go anywhere for a while-- not until the Hoyas do some serious damage in the tournament at least....

Yeah, I'm not sure about being scapegoated, or this recognition for his "coaching".

Broadus is a major asset to the Georgetown program as an assistant, and a superb recruiter. He certainly appeared to be the Peter Principle in action at Binghamton, although Thamel made it his personal quest to berate Broadus in the pages of the NYT far beyond the merits of the actual story. It would make a fine redemption narrative if he got another shot at a head job, hopefully benefiting from lessons learned from the meltdown in Binghamton -- but until then, we Hoya fans will benefit from his exceptional abilities of persuasion.

Allow me add a few comments regarding Coach Broadus. Along from being extremely personable, a great family man and a wonderful representative of the university, he's got an incredible work ethic and takes his job very seriously. He is tireless. We are very lucky to have him and the rest of the staff we have in place for that matter. You don't land a top 5 class by accident.

Who is it going to be?!
