Kansas comes to town Wednesday, Dec. 10. I'm sure all the locals are going to be upset about a Wednesday night game Thats also a tough OOC stretch for Kansas: Florida on the 5th and Utah on the 13th.

This isn't going to placate all the out of towners who were told "at least we'll have Kansas next year".

Not me. This blows.
That Saturday, December 20 home game against UMBC is gonna be great, though.

At least it's before the kids go home for Christmas. I have a few sick days saved up.

Definitely not optimal. Ugh. Guess we'll never really know how much Verizon scheduling vs tv scheduling affected this.

Also, 12/10 is the first day of exams - I think the last time Georgetown played a team with an RPI better than 200 during the middle weeks of December was Temple in 2010. At least the team can backload their exams after the game, I suppose. I would not expect an all-time raucous student section, though.

I seem to recall we played Memphis at Memphis a few years back around Christmas. But man this does kinda suck. If the students can't be there in force this is a real gut kick to the schedule

Ha, yeah, may not placate the out of towners and students, but for us old fogies, I love it. Right in the middle of holiday party season, fun night out to watch a great matchup. Not during the holiday break when we all have to travel to family functions.

I really think a lot of it will depend on where we stand at the time, too. If we come out strong and win the Atlantis tournament or beat a bunch of good teams there, we will likely be top 25 and have some buzz. Presumably, Kansas will also be a top 25 team. That sort of matchup should draw people, even if it's a Wednesday. Obviously, Saturday would be better, but it's better than a game against NJIT.

When is the usual time frame for the home schedule coming out? I think we had a firm grasp of it last year by late June. Have to plan a meeting either the first or second weekend in December and don't want to miss a game. If finals start on 12/10, then maybe the team would get a week off after KU?

Are we playing Indiana on 12/27 @ MSG? Just saw a Bancroft tweet to that effect.

Indiana would be a great game. Unlike a few years ago when Indiana was #1 and we were unranked, we should have the better team this year, and by then the freshman should be integrated. It's a great chance to beat a high major team. I think this is a very winnable game for us.

They have Blackmon Jr. and Johnson coming in at the guard spots, but the rest of their class looks so-so. Troy Williams had a decent frosh campaign, didn't he?

They've got Yogi Ferrell and a bunch of so-so. If we play, that is a must win for conference profile purposes.

Playing an OOC at MSG every year would be a great way to keep the Big East/NYC imprint in the public eye during the regular season.
