Smith seems like a perfect fit.

Now we're talking, although the Height Nazis of HoyaTalk will not be that impressed. Reason for transfer? I like that he could be an older kid on a fairly young team.. I like that too. Balance is key and we need more balance on this roster (only three upperclassmen on the '15-16 team). That would be a quick fix.

Seems like it could be a good fit Some here are biased towards taller guards, esp. if he's a SG. BTW, I haven't seen him play but he averages 0.9 assists per game and 10 FGA so I'm guessing he's shooting not at point.

I'm a bit biased towards bigger guards, but if he can get his shot off against size I'm less particular. Our backcourt would be small, but we'd have great size 3-5. I'd guess Peak slides over to the 2, Ike at the 3, PW moves into the starting lineup at the 4. We don't necessarily need a PG either. We need a guard with a really solid handle though. DSR and Tre can effectively man the PG duties but another skilled ball handler and perimeter threat would be nice.

I'd take a kid that can shoot like that and has experience in a heartbeat. We could use another shooter. OFFER HIM PLEASE!!

His assist numbers the year before were quite a bit better so his role likely changed with Buzz. I haven't seen him play either though so no idea what kind of guard he is. Low turnover rate. Low foul rate. Really good shooter. A position of need. Available immediately. A scholarship that's not being used anyway. Yep, sounds like a good fit to me.

This is a no brainer. We have an open scholarship which we don't want to use for a 2015 kid. He wont be here in 2016 so won't scare away any 2016 kids. And he's a great shooter which is the thing we need the most.

This does appear to be a no-brainer. This also appears to be a situation in which there will be plenty of programs vying for Smith's attention. We haven't fared well in those types of situations as of late. I'm hopeful but not optimistic.

With Junior Etou now sitting out a year and then having two more years of eligibility, he's going to be an old 25 year-old by the end of his senior year (not that he'll admit it)...

Not a prospect for transferring to Georgetown, but PG Brandon Randolph is leaving Xavier. Interesting timing since it's before season's end. So not only did Xavier not gain a PG today (Traci Carter), it lost one. Hoyaboya, you were only three weeks early; good call. It has now been confirmed that Brandon Randolph is, in fact, transferring away from Xavier.

Jeff Borzello @jeffborzello · 13m 13 minutes ago Drexel's Damion Lee tells ESPN he plans to graduate in June and play elsewhere immediately next season. Averaged 21.4 points.
A 6'6" guard from Baltimore Calvert Hall. 38% from 3. Is there any chance?
A one year player like this could hinder the development of Peak and/or Campbell, but would be a good addition and would take some of the load off DSR. I thought that DSR had tired legs at the end of last year -- he did not have good back to back games in BET and NCAAs. While a lot had to do with the defenses of Xavier and Utah, a guy like this takes the pressure off of DSR.

Whoa, just looked up Damion Lee. A 6-6 guard who can shoot and has a great A-TO ratio? From Baltimore? Staff should be ALL OVER this one. Hope he wants both a great program and one close to home!

It reads like the provision won't go into effect until the start of next season, meaning players are immediately eligible for next season but not 16-17..

Whoa, is this for graduate transfers? If so, that is garbage. If these kids graduate, they should have the option to transfer without penalty of sitting out a year. So now the NCAA wants to penalize kids for graduating early?

Maybe, could be wrong but I’m pretty sure it applies for next season. So a player like Akoy will have to sit a full year or wait until December to be eligible.. Grad transfer rules are the same of course

2 things: 1. Why is that the best news Rothstein has gotten? What does he have against immediate eligibility? And 2., isn't Damion Lee more of a small forward?
