So you might think (and I don't disagree), but a number of projected drafts have him going 20-25 in the first round. I look at it this way - he's leaving Syracuse, and that's a good thing.

Sites like nbadraftnet and draftexpress are cancer. They get kids thinking they are better than they are. Jerami Grants game right now consists running and dunking. He hit all of 0 3pointers this year. He is gonna end up like Ariza did when he came out of UCLA headed to the D league for 2 years. If a GM wastes a 1st round pick on him they are stupid by the time he gets good he'll be on his 2nd contract.

If a GM wastes a 1st round pick on him they are stupid by the time he gets good he'll be on his 2nd contract. Again, I don't disagree. But this is the world we're living in. You may know that in addition to my Hoya loyalty, I'm a UCLA fan. I grew up a UCLA fan and attended classes there while in high school, so I remain loyal - secondarily - to UCLA. I was astounded when Zach LaVine declared for the draft. The kid wasn't even a starter. Not only that, but I would give him about a C- for his play during the second half of the season, and closer to an F for his play away from home. He has no business whatsoever coming out this year. He will do nothing but ride the pine - or play in the D League - for at least two seasons. But he's projected as a first round pick?? Like I say, this is the world we are living in. We'll see if he even makes it to the second contract. FWIW, I thought Ariza was insane for leaving after his freshman year, too. He's made a nice career for himself, but I can't help but think he would have been better served by staying in college for another year or two.

I only saw Kansas play one game in person this year but I'd take Embiid over Wiggins if i had the #1 pick. I guess Wiggins has more "up side" whatever that means, but Embiid has crazy ability.

It is a bit much and his decision likely surprises no one but, by all accounts (and his article is no different), he seems like a really good kid with his head screwed on straight. I especially liked the part where he mentioned his intention to continue to pursue his degree at Duke. I loathe Duke basketball but it's a phenomenal school and Jabari Parker is going to take maximum advantage of that. Good for him. I have a difficult time disliking him which is nearly unheard of for me when it comes to Dukies. I think the last one I didn't hate was Grant Hill. As for Grant, that seems like a poor decision. Who knows what his academic situation is though. Don't some of these kids bail on second semester classes with the expectation that they will go pro? I wonder how many of those kids shoot themselves in the foot by making that decision and then having a disappointing season.

I wonder if Roscoe will get drafted. He averaged nearly 11 rebounds a game at UNLV.
