Is a pure SG or more of a SF/SG?

I like his comment about not wanting to go to a "One and Done" type of school, bye bye Kentucky. He sounds like he's got tenacity and love to play defense.

Reminds me a bit of Hollis. Not exactly an above the rum guy but solid in all facets of the game with a good head on his shoulders.

I'm really starting to like these lanky wing players. Tough to really tell what his game is like from those videos though. Any HS footage around? What kind of competition does he play?

I see the staff is recruiting for Copeland's replacement... wonder if he's talked to JYD since he's out in Las Vegas...
We've got a very good situation going on. Otto's helped us get some momentum with wing players and circumstances/timing have us on some high level guards that we'd normally not get. Really need to lean on our old school big man rep right now to bring in a quality center or two. Could be the perfect storm -- in a positive way -- for this this program as it could be looking at its best grouping of talent under JT3 in the next couple years in terms of depth and at across all positions.
Now will it translate to wins? I don't know but we've all seen JT3 do some great coaching when he has talented rosters. At the least, lets put the we cant recruit with the best of them talk to rest for now.....

AllMetroHoops @ehoopsshowcase 2h Add Kobi Simmons, Braxton Blackwell and Ray Smith to the list of top performers #AdidasGauntlet #adidasuprising
Eric Bossi @ebosshoops 1h The other guy who really commanded my attention in Dallas today is Ray Smith. He is really putting it together. Dream Vision's best prospect
Eric Bossi @ebosshoops 18h On my way to Dallas, names coaches been raving about are Jalen Brown, Ray Smith, Brandon Ingram and Dennis Smith.

basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1636105He is still a little rough around the edges and has some work to do on his ball-handling, but Ray Smith is coming along even faster than expected. Thanks to a huge junior season at Las Vegas High, the 6-foot-7 wing made a huge jump up to No. 32 in the class of 2015. It looks like he is putting himself in position for another jump. A smooth athlete, Smith is a threat to shoot from range -- percentage isn't there yet but his shot looks good -- and he is a dynamic player in transition with the tools to emerge as a big-time defender. As long as he keeps on the path he is on, Smith will likely end up a five-star prospect.

Sounds like a really mature kid for his age. I liked the part about him taking pride in looking out for his teammates and making the smart play, not necessarily the flashy play. A school that develops their players and really cares about the players? Hmm... Where could he go to get that?

zagsblog.com/articles/three-schools-working-hardest-on-ray-smith/Still, Williams said several schools were working the hardest for the 6-foot-7 Smith, the No. 6-ranked small forward in the Class of 2015 by 247 Sports.
“I would say the schools that are recruiting him the hardest are UCLA, Arizona and Louisville,” Williams said. “Those three are recruiting him the hardest.”Sometimes I hate when coaches are quoted or get involved, it's been widely reported that Smith wants to visit G'town in May and that Hardy has been on him for awhile now but the coach only mentions the blue blood programs when asked.. Smh.. Dude didn't even mention hometown UNLV, Rice has been on him longer than anyone..

Looks like a young Paul George to me What position do you think he ends up playing in college? For us I think he would play a Greg Whittington type of role. 2/3 but handles the ball, get’s to initiate offense etc
