re: SMU. How was that whole Keith Frazier thing resolved? I thought there were reports out there that his high school grades were changed to make him eligible.

I about fell off my chair when I saw Louisville as a 4 seed. I thought they were no worse than a 2. Wichita St. definitely got no favors in their regional.

We are better than Xavier. I guess that's not too surprising, considering 1 more win by us might have had us in and them out...

Xavier showed and got blown out against N.C. State that happened to beat Syracuse to help their cause.
This is a bad sign...1 Big East team down 3 to go
Right now I think the best chance for a Sweet 16 is Villanova but I do not like the matchup vs Connecticut
Creighton has to go thru Baylor or Nebraska..playing Nebraska would be in Creighton's favor
Providence (BET Champs) has to go thru North Carolina and Iowa State they got shafted by the committee and have no chance of going thru that gauntlet to get to a Sweet 16.

Xavier just didn't show. Lame. How nice would it have been to have TJ Warren on the Hoyas? Not sure how close we actually were to getting him, but a guy can dream can't he?

Let's just say that Lower Canada Community College has a different way of dealing with those issues, as itemized by Casual Hoya; in the attached posting, I counted fourteen separate episodes (Mr. Devendorf twice) of physical violence involving SU players and females, with only one player (Todd Burgan) being suspended for seven games. I'm guessing those games were all in December at the Dome against SU's strenuous out-of-conference schedule. www.casualhoya.com/2012/12/17/3776630/jim-boeheim-900-wins-syracuse-orange-basketball

I think Tennessee will beat Iowa, but as members of Elvado's army, we should all be pulling for Iowa tonight.

Tennessee may be the most painful team to watch in all of college basketball. Shame they won last night.

How does American have a better low post presence than us?

It's much more fun watching these early round NCAA games without having to worry about being upset for the umpteenth time. I feel no guilt cheering for Dayton and American at the moment and am actually excited for new teams to feel our pain of being cinderella-ed.

We are better than Xavier. Sometimes... We were 39 points better than Xavier for 65 of the 80 minutes we played them this year (we won in DC by 22 and were up 17 in Cincinnati with 15 minutes to play). The collapse at Xavier was epic and the fact that JT III went home that night with three timeouts left in his pocket is one of the most baffling coaching nights I can remember. That 15-minute stretch was the difference between us being safely in the NCAA Tournament and us being in the NIT. Long winded way of saying yes, I agree, we are better than Xavier.
