I have to say I enjoy seeing a 'have not' win the whole thing...even if it was an old rival.
The UCONN guards were so exceptional. I was very impressed.

What separates Kevin Ollie from other coaches is his ability to make in game adjustments on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. John Calipari Tom Izzo Mike Krzyzewski Rick Pitno Bill Self Roy Williams Bradley Stevens Shocka Smart Billy Donovan Ben Howland Jim Calhoun These coaches can make good in-game adjustments on the fly your point?. I just thought he did a good job, no companison to other coaches Kevin Ollie is on his way to being highly sought after especially by NBA teams.

Didn't UConn's championship prove that it's possible to win a title with stiffs at center (maybe that's harsh - let's just say non-scorers, since the big guys contribuated defensively) if there are enough good pieces around them? Maybe I'm just in a grouchy mood, but I didn't find last night's game particularly entertaining (particularly compared to last year's championship game), and this UConn team looks like the least talented championship team in many years. Major props to Kevin Ollie. I definitely didn't see this coming.

UCONN is moving forward with what they need to do to win. The coach had a good run this season. For those HOYAS who brag about our last National Championship, none of the UCONN or Kentucky players were born when that happened. Same is true about Penn State football, none of the players were born the last time they won it all. That doesn't mean that I don't support both schools.

I didn't follow the NCAA Tournament closely, but who were the starters for UConn? Napier, Boatright, Daniels and which other two players? Nolan and Giffey?

Couldn't he have just transferred to U-Dub? That's some quality work, there, NC2A. By the way, how are those investigations and penalties going against places like UNC and Syracuse? Oh, and, while you're at it, how is John Calipari still allowed to coach amateur athletes? What's that? Can't be bothered? Oh, well, at least you nailed that miscreant McGary.

Does McGary even go in the first round at this point? How much does this cost him?

If there's a lesson to be had here, it's that players should go pro as soon as they can (see also Marcus Smart)

Yeah, I believe it was the only time he ever smoked up. That being said, it is a silly rule, but that is what the NCAA does best. Let the football powers make their own rules to give more to players and their families, and get a big recruiting advantage in all other sports - but do not dare touch that joint during our sacred cow tournament!

Does McGary even go in the first round at this point? How much does this cost him? How much does smoking weed cost him in trying to make the NBA? I'm gonna go with just about zero. If they drug tested everyone before the tournament, how many teams couldn't put five guys on the court? BYU would probably win the national championship by default.

I was more thinking that the injury + suspsension means it will have been months since he has played meaningful basketball and therefore, perhaps, that lessens his draftability in some eyes. But your point is well taken.

Looks like the Harrison twins are returning to Kentucky. Should be interesting how the scholarship situation gets "worked out."

If there's a lesson to be had here, it's that players should go pro as soon as they can (see also Marcus Smart) I think he wanted to but his best friend and roommate was glen Robinson 3 and Robinson decided to stay so McGary stayed. McGray also repeated a year IIRC so hes lost two years of pro money but I do respect his loyalty and friendship to Glenn.

This is an interesting point. JT3 is actually successful at doing this. I have read many articles about how NBA GM's state Georgetown players are ready for the next level because they have an understanding of the game and solid fundamentals. Our players with elite talent have done well at the next level. JT3 gets knocked for his philosophy but he teaches these kids how to play basketball. Just being athletic and running/jumping well is not going to cut it at the next level.

so why not recruit one or two : "one and "done's" to compliment the quality recruits?
