Google the definition of insanity. That's not it. Not sure why people continually repeat this doing things over and expecting line. What this program lacks is basketball players. Not guys that play basketball, but actual basketball players. Guys that know what they are doing when they step on the court. If this Baggins is a basketball player then we need him. Albert Einstein once said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Of course it is not the true definition, just a memorable saying.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Recruiting the same type of guards over and over and expecting not to be beaten by some random "Mid Major" with quick small guard who guts your teams defense by attacking the basket at will and kicking it out for wide open 3's, finishes at the rym or throws ridiculous lobs, has been the Georgetown definition of insanity for the last 7 years. Let's change that! Everybody on here who are yawning at the thought of this kid or are not interested because his lack of height probably would have said no Tyler Ulis of Kentucky as well. If this kid was 6'2" with his skill set, you would think we have no shot at him. Ask yourself, besides height what's missing from this kids game? This kid did work against Dematha last season as a sophomore. The same Dematha with 2 top 10 ranked kids in their perspective class. Don't come trying to jump on the bandwagon next summer/fall when this kids ranked in the top 100 if not higher. I'M ALL IN FOR CHRIS LYKES! If Chrs Lykes is recruited wouldn't the the style offense have to change to maximize his abilities?

Don't come trying to jump on the bandwagon next summer/fall when this kids ranked in the top 100 if not higher. I'M ALL IN FOR CHRIS LYKES! If Chrs Lykes is recruited wouldn't the the style offense have to change to maximize his abilities? Actually the style off offense wouldn't have to change. If you get a chance to watch Lykes play, you would see that his game fits the Georgetown offense extremely well. He plays on and off the ball, he come off screens, cuts back door, he comes off dribble handoffs, makes great backdoor passes. He can shoot the rock at a high level from everywhere on the offensive end of the floor and he goes after and gets rebounds at his size. He is highly skilled kid who could actually fix IMO the offenses biggest limitation, the end of shot clock situations. Lykes skill set would give JT3 a weopen he has rarely had, a player who can create something out of nothing when the offense bogs down and the shot clock is expiring. Right now that responsibility seems to be DSR's. He has done an okay job at it but when he gets the ball in those situations everyone knows he is only looking to score. Even his teammates stop moving and become spectators. Lykes elite quickness and superior ball handling would allow him to breakdown the defense, get into the key for an easier scoring opportunity for his teammates or himself. Another limitation of the offense that Lykes abilities could improve is when the team is struggling and falls behind significantly and is trying to mount a come back. Lykes can absolutely speed up the tempo and allow you to play an open court style leading to quick hitting quality scoring opportunities (fast breaks, lobs, spacing the floor, etc.). You can see some of what I'm talking about in the full game that YaBoy posted above. Lykes game allows him to play in almost any style and have success especially in the current freedom of movement era we are in. If the referee's call the game how their suppose to, Lykes's deceptive ball handle, shiftiness and elite quickness will lead to him shooting a lot of FT's where he shoots it at 88% clip while getting the other team in foul trouble. I'M GOING TO KEEP SAYING IT, I'M ALL IN FOR CHRIS LYKES! REMEMBER WHEN THIS KID HAS BLOWN UP, I WAS FIRST TO THE PARTY.

If you watched the last 3 minutes of that dumpster fire today where we had no offensive options but to pass the ball around the perimeter until DSR threw up a prayer. We have no one who can create offense when traditional offense is failing, or at the end of shot clock or game situations. Not saying this is why we lost (that's a whole other issue) but it plays a huge role. Much like Tre has lost confidence in his jumper, I have loss confidence in him. I LOVE JAGAN's GAME but his game is not yet going off script and creating scoring opportunities. This game highlighted all my points on why we need Chris Lykes (see previous post on how Lykes fit with Georgetown).

Anybody else watching 5'9" PG AJ Harris of Ohio State controlling the game against Kentucky with his crazy speed and quickness ball handling, attacking down hill, creating opportunities for his teammates and knocking down shots. I believe he comes off the bench as a change of pace guard. He is freshman that was ranked 80th nationally by ESPN!
Kentucky was down by as much as 17 but is making a comeback lead by the efforts of Tyler Ulis (listed generously at 5'9") another speedy guard that has proven he can break down any defense off the bounce. He was ranked in the top 50 Nationally by most scouting services. Would be nice if we had a player with those skill sets.
IM GOING TO KEEP SAYING IT, I'M ALL IN FOR CHRIS LYKES!!!

There are plenty of small, quick playmakers outside the top 100 and that's exactly where we should be looking. The pool of talented bigs is very limited every year, but there are plenty of talented guards available with this type of skillset. With all the recent rule changes favoring this style of play, there really is no excuse for not having at least one of this type of dynamic ball handler on your roster...unless you're not interested in having this type of player...

No disrespect but It seems like you missed my point. My point is not that Tyler Ulis and AJ Harris were top 100 ranked PG's. My point was more about their skill sets and that you can be small, quick point guards with an elite handle, passing skills, scoring ability and not only be a major impact at the high major level but control the games. I happened to mention that they were both top 100 kids as more of a matter fact. All of my points in this thread are in reference to 5'8" local D.C. product (Gonzaga) who I think would be the perfect guard for what JT3 offense is missing especially with the new freedom of movement rules that referees are suppose to be enforcing going forward. I'm hoping, no I'm praying JT3 and staff go after this kid and becomes a Hoya. By the way Chris Lykes is currently has a composite ranking of #207, no where near the top 100 YET! I hope we can get on him now because next fall he will absolutely be a rated much much higher then he is now.

Watched the Roman Catholic game last night.. Kid can go.. I've watched the Roman Catholic game 3 times already! Thanks for posting it YaBoy! All it did was make me want Lykes more. The kid can flat out play. He gave Roman Catholic WORK! A Roman Catholic team with multiple high major prospects/commits and is nationally ranked team. When has JT3 ever had a PG with Lykes's all around skill set? For those who question whether he can be impactful at the high major level, watch him play! Watch the Roman Catholic game. Research the kid. As a sophomore he lead Gonzaga to the upset of a STACKED and Nationally Ranked Dematha team last February in the WCAC Conference Championship. The WCAC is pretty much recognized as the best high school basketball conference in the country because of the overwhelming amount of talent that annually reside throughout the conference and Chris Lykes is already one of the best players in this loaded conference. I'M ALL IN FOR CHRIS LYKES!!!

He's definitely on the staff's radar. Best Hoyas news I've heard during the holidays! Everyone by now knows I think he can be big difference maker in JT3's offense especially when the offence bogs down or at the end of the shot clock situations. A buddy of mine who works in The U (Univ. Of Miami, FL) athletic department told me Chris Lykes was recently their for an unofficial visit. I hope the staff doesn't wait to long to really get involved and we loose out on IMO one the top high school PG's in the country. I'M ALL IN FOR CHRIS LYKES! I like Lykes a lot(no pun intended) my biggest issue with him is that he's a 2017 kid, imo the staff needs to get more back-court help for next season..
If that doesn't happen, I'll gladly join your coalition..

If that doesn't happen, I'll gladly join your coalition.. If Tre doesn't show some sign of improvement this season, then I agree with you Etomic. We will need more backcourt help for next season. I wouldn't be comfortable at all handing the keys to the car to Tre to steer the team next year the way he has played so far this season. If we don't lose anybody from this team early to the association and Tre doesn't improve significantly I could actually see Jagan starting over him by the time conference play starts. That speaks to how high I am on Jagan and how disappointed I have been in Tre's play so far this year. I don't personally see any high/prep school PG's available that can be impactful as freshman for us. I love Jagan's game and think he will be most impactful at the point and because of Jagan's physical attributes he could also slide over and play the 2 alongside let's say a Chris Lykes during the game and uptempo situations. I think the best route for the staff is to go really hard at a 5th year free agent point guard to bridge the gap until 2017 class because I just don't see any answers for what we will need next year still uncommitted. There are a couple kids out their that are intriguing but the 17 class is loaded and I would hope the staff would want to use the scholarship in that class. I believe our need in the backcourt for help is glaring not only because of Tre's regression but also the lack of a ball mover with Paul White's injury. I know Jagan's got outstanding court vision and is natural ball mover so that will help next years team but we might need an additional ball handler. Honestly if Tre was showing growth in his game this year and he was ready to take over the team next year, I wouldn't feel we needed to add another guard to the roster. Absent of seeing that by the end of the season, I absolutely feel we need another ball handler. I'M ALL IN FOR CHRIS LYKES!!!
