it is now the refs fault and woody hayes is fault because knight played at ohio st while hayes was there and coached football. they are giving all these excuses for knight like it was not his fault blame everyone else. it is some crap. espn is all about them and whoever is with them. go Hoyas.

I can't remember the last time I watched ESPN for something other than live sports. Other than some of the 30 for 30s, it's all trash. I don't really get why people continue to watch it.

Who even has ESPN Classic anymore? And watches an 8 year old special on it?

Couple of points:
- As Philly indicated, this is not a new show, so it's not one that ESPN created when Bob Knight joined the network. It actually pre-dates his career as a color commentator by about three years.
- The Top Five Reasons You Can't Blame... series covered lots of "controversial" topics, and I thought it was an interesting, if not always successful, attempt to show more than one side to a "conventional wisdom" issue. IMO, it was one of the good things ESPN used to do.
(FWIW, there was also one on not blaming Fred Brown and not blaming the 1985 Georgetown team).
Having said all of that, I am not here to defend the mouse. I, like most others here, have put ESPN in my rear view mirror for just about everything except live sports. Everything else has just become yammering (I will admit, though, I love watching Dan LeBatard, his dad and Bomani Jones; I don't DVR it or anything, but on the occasions when I have an early day off work, I always find that show pretty funny).
As an aside, hey, remember when ESPN thought they could do original scripted programming? That was fun. The unmitigated disasters that were "Playmakers" and "Tilt"? And, seeing as how were on that topic, who can forget....Brian Dennehy IS Bobby Knight!
LOLZ. What a train wreck all of those things were.
