BOO WILLIAMS Boo Williams comes off an impressive 2014 campaign, making it to the Peach Jam Final Four on the back of Chris Clarke and company. DeShawn Corprew is back after a strong first season and he is our early favorite to lead Boo in scoring. They’re set at point guard, featuring sophomore stud Matt Coleman. Huntington Prep guard Curtis Jones and Oak Hill center Khadim Sy are two huge additions that will play major minutes in Boo’s rotation. They are deep, have three big men over 6-foot-10 and they defend as well as anyone. Keep an eye on sophomore Dajour Dickens (6-foot-11) and juniors Robert Smith Lewis Freeman, who all figure to big parts of the rotation. We like the makeup of this team, and a repeat of last year – or better - isn’t out of the question. www.d1circuit.com/news_article/show/501347?referrer_id=790853

www.d1circuit.com/game/show/10196889Miller with 6 and 9.. Mentioned this kid a while back but hopefully the staff takes a look at NY Lightning guard Shamorie Ponds. Kid is a high level shooter at the PG position, needs to get stronger. Averaging 21ppg after his first 2 Eybl games

Very good write up on the Tony Carr's game.. I hope the staff stays on him, he's a 6-4 pg who's getting better... insider.espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/evaluation/_/id/207412/tony-carrESPN Analyst Updated 01/23/2015
Strengths: A late blooming point guard who has not only continued to grow, but also developed his game at a rapid rate. Carr now has terrific size for the point guard position, allowing him to both see and pass over top of most opposing defenders. He always plays with his head up and sees the floor very well. He's very good attacking north to south in the open floor, can also be shifty and smooth to get into the lane in a half-court game, and has runners and floaters alike when unable to get all the way to the rim. Defensively, he has the long arms and relatively quick feet to develop into a disruptive defender as well.
Weaknesses: Carr has the ability to make some tough shots from the perimeter, but his overall mechanics and consistency could still improve. He has a tendency to bring the ball up, and sometimes even release it, on the left side of his body and can consequently spray the ball at times. He's a little naturally lean through his upper body and will need to continue to adjust to playing through contact.
Bottom Line: A true point guard who has blossomed at a rapid rate physically and has all the tools to be one of the top point guard prospects on the east coast.

www.verbalcommits.com/players/jaylen-fisherESPN Analyst Updated 01/20/2015 Strengths: Fisher is a true point guard with good size and feel for the game. He does a great job of pushing the ball on the break with tremendous pace off the dribble and he also will not hesitate to advance pass. Fisher has a strong handle especially going to his right and can finish once he gets to the rim with excellent touch and body control but what makes Fisher special is his court vision and ability to deliver the ball on time and on target as he attacks the defense. He can make rhythm dribble pull up jumpers with time and space as well. Weaknesses: Fisher will need to add strength, work on attack at high speeds with his left hand and work to develop as a shooter and extend his range which will take his game to the next level. Bottom Line:Fisher is an attacking point guard with that is a great passer with excellent court vision. He will need to continue to develop as a player in other areas but his feel and instincts are excellent which make him a high major point guard with tremendous upside.

www.d1circuit.com/game/show/10196889Miller with 6 and 9.. Mentioned this kid a while back but hopefully the staff takes a look at NY Lightning guard Shamorie Ponds. Kid is a high level shooter at the PG position, needs to get stronger. Averaging 21ppg after his first 2 Eybl games I've been reading up on Ponds, he looks like he's making a jump.. High, high level shooter.. I'd like to see the staff get involved, he plays on the same aau team that Govan played on.. insider.espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/evaluation/_/id/207249/shamorie-pondsESPN Analyst Updated 01/23/2015
Strengths: Ponds is a left-handed combo-guard who impacts the game with his scoring and passing. He has a great burst off the dribble and he changes speeds very well. The biggest strength of his game is his shooting prowess. He can knock in jump shots out to 23-feet and his release is quick and smooth. He is most effective off the catch, but he can also hit shots off the dribble. He advances the ball well in transition and in the half court set he understands angles while feeding the post.
Weaknesses: Ponds needs to work on his shot selection as there are times he takes jump shots without thinking about time and score. In addition, he needs to work on honing his point guard skills (pick-and-roll, pick-and-pop) and advancing the ball quickly in transition without over-handling.
Bottom Line: Ponds is a slick lefty that has the scoring and facilitating game that compares favorably to former NBA standout Nick Van Exel.

Last year at this point we had 3 verbal commits(although only 2 stayed the course). Is this a downtick in our recruiting, or just one of those years when we are more patient?

Usually kids will start to cut down their lists after Peach Jam in July and set visits. Typically that's when thing start to heat up, the majority of kids are not committed yet. That's the normal cycle since kids can't sign a LOI until the Fall of their Senior year.
