YaBoy has mentioned him earlier a few times in another thread but he probably deserves his own thread now. New Rivals article. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1592454Highlights are: "I just recently got offers from Georgetown and Auburn. I have 28 offers now, so it's been pretty good so far," Bacon said. "I probably talk to Georgetown, Louisville, Florida State, and USC the most right now out of all those schools." A recent offer has put the Georgetown Hoyas firmly in the mix of schools that could potentially sign Bacon in the 2015 class. "Georgetown is a great school," Bacon said. "My girlfriend is actually committed there. They have been on me a lot lately. I feel like I could go there and develop into a pro because of their program and how they do things." "I'm going to base my decision off playing time, the program, the education, and I'll sit down and talk to my mom and see what she thinks too." He expects to commit in late summer.

Mom will definitely have the last say, but if the Hoyas make mom's final list then girlfriend's going to Georgetown will definitely be the preponderance of evidence needed for him to make his final decision. Besides the obvious romantic friendship advantage, he has a familiar tutor if needed. Lock him up III.

I can just imagine the bacon signs in the crowd... do we all make a "sizzle" sound when he makes a shot?

Do we need to add a relationship adviser to the staff to make sure they stay together??

Getting Bacon would be great not only because of his obvious skills, but may help change the negative perception that GU doesn't bring in or develop tall/athletic/explosive PGs. It sure is nice to dream of him and Derrickson joining our 2014 class........

Can’t imagine a 6’6 PG joining all of these big athletic versatile wings, plus a pass first jet like Campbell in the mix.. That’s the type of Hoya team I want to see Athletic, versatile, long, and tenacious

I know that's what he says he is now but saying it doesn't make it so.. The kid is a talent no doubt and if he were to commit I'd be happy but if you gimme a choice I'll take T. Mann over him

I don’t see much difference in their situations tbh Mann is also trying to get to the PG position as well but is not there yet also..

He seems to have the handle to play point. Very quick with the ball and plays with a great change of pace which makes him adept at creating slashing lanes, similar to the savvy DSR uses to get to the bucket. Also seems to at least be a confident shooter, but those are just highlights. But bottom line......wow. As said above, he seems to have the potential to help promote the integration of a new breed of big, athletic points. Really hope 3 wraps this up.

Bacon seems like a pure scorer to me, kinda in the mold of what LJ Peak is doing this season.. Whereas Mann seems like the utility type combo player which I think will be the better fit with the incoming recruits..

If you have a choice you take the best player all things considered. This kid appears to be a stud, a versatile combo guard with height and athleticism. I love me some Bacon!

This is a GREAT reason to come to GU! Wow, don't know if the young man will choose Georgetown, but I am VERY impressed with his choices so far.
