What just happened there? I'm credited with a post I didn't make and RB is quoted as saying something I said. Not that big a deal, I don't think, but I'm just curious as to how it happened.

YB I dont think Villanueva is a moron at all. Yes he does have some flaws in his game, but look at Andre Iguodala for the 76er's. He came out with some flaws in his game and he never dominated really, but he showed potential, now he is one of the best rookies in the NBA this year. Also, Charlie's family lives in Brooklyn so I think he wants to move them out of their and give them a good surrounding. But, maybe I am just looking on the brighter side of things here with seeing a UCONN player leave early for the draft again. Better for Jeff and Roy. What exactly is wrong with living in Brooklyn?

I did not mean it like that. But, Villanueva said that he wants his family to get out of Brooklyn because he said they dont live in the best neighborhood in Brooklyn. That's what I mean, sorry for not clarrifying.

Not sure Villanueva is a definite lottery pick - the guy doesn't have a defensive bone in his body, doesn't have the beef to bang inside and is probably a tad slow to guard smaller forwards.
As far as why he's leaving, I think it also may have a little bit to do with the fact that his mom was in a car accident sometime this past year and doesn't want her to have to work again.

Not so sure about Villaneuva being a lottery pick. From ESPN.com's Chad Ford's list of the top-10 power forwards entering the NBA draft:
[on Villanueva] The scouts and GMs I consult all like him as a player, but when pressed on whether they'd actually take him with a lottery pick, they all pass. Why? There are players who are almost as talented – with zero off-the-court issues– available. Asked if they'd take him at 21, every one of them said yes. Right now, we have him in the mid-to-late first round.

Bogut is top three and should be #1. Pops & this other guy will definitely come back. I might get grief for saying this, but if you were a decent junior like BB, why wouldn't you do this knowing full well that you are coming back for your senior season? You get to try out in Chicago and compare yourself to the top players. You also get to see where you need to improve. I think it makes sense if you have a shot at the league to just get the pre-draft experience.
CV will be a mid-1st rounder and will be an average pro. On another note, I couldn't even afford Brooklyn!

For a player without a lot of hype, there's no downside to declaring and testing the waters. Of course, not everyone gets invited to Chicago/Portland.
If Pops stayed in, he'd get drafted.

But, maybe I am just looking on the brighter side of things here with seeing a UCONN player leave early for the draft again. Better for Jeff and Roy. Andre Iguodala's flaws were that he was raw on offense. His greatest strength which is most NBA players' greatest weakeness is defense. How many rookies you know get the assignment of guarding the opposing teams best player, (Kobe Bryant, Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, etc.) everynight and doing a decent job of doing it. The Iguodala vs. Villanueva comparison is horrible. Vilanueva is slow and can't guard anyone. He hasn't developed any skills to make him successful in the NBA. He is not that athletic. He is too small to play power-forward. He is not that developed offensively to play small-forward nor can he guard small-forwards. He is making a big mistake going in the draft. His family even told him to stay and don't worry about their situation. They would rather him stay in college.

Just to tell everyone, there was an article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette today stating that Taft is leaing towards going to the draft. I understand CV but not Taft. He really has not proven anything yet. But, if thats what he wants, then I see Pitt being pretty mediocre next year. Also, Gilchrist from Maryland is 99 percent sure hes going to the NBA. So, it looks like the Big East is clearing out some of the talent for the Hoyas (Taft, CV, and probably Francisco Garcia).

Also, J.R. Morris from Seton Hall has declared for the draft. He is a junior and he was averaging 10 points and 5 rebounds before being suspended for academic reasons this year.

Lol. Thats what I told myself when I saw it on ESPN today. He is not even worthy of going to these workouts. He played on the worst big east team this year, and he cant even stay on it and he wants to go to the NBA???

I think Taft is a lot like Chris Wilcox was when he came to the NBA. He's big and athletic, but hasn't proven himself to be a top talent on the NCAA level. Based just on his natural athletecism, someone will pick him in the lottery, and try to develop him on their own, similar to how the Clippers picked Wilcox a couple years back. I dont expect Taft to make a huge impact any point. If he hasn't even been able to develop into a primary option on a Big East team, how will he develop into that sort of an option in the league? I've never been a fan of picks like that. If a guy hasnt proven to be an excellent player in 2 years of NCAA ball, what makes you think hell be an impact player in the NBA? Give me a player like David Lee or Ryan Gomes (both projected 2nd rounders) who have proved themselves on the collegiate any day.
As for J.R. Morris.... if your name is unfamiliar to fans of a team in your own division, thats a pretty good sign youre not not ready for the league. He'll be back to college unless hes still academically ineligible.

"Academically ineligible" is probably the key here. Chances are that Morris has no shot at getting back into the Hall, so he is exercising his next best option. Not that I intend to compare Morris to Victor Page, but wasn't that really the reason why Page declared when he did?

Garcia is definitely gone. This is his last year for sure, he's not comfortable with the situation his mother is in so he's definitely entering the draft.

When I read "Hall", I immediatly thought of Drew Hall. Hahahahaha. Great laugh to wake up to. ;D
Somebody ought to tell Bogut to stay another year so he becomes Dirk II, not another Pau Gasol or Igauskas (sp?).

And considering how good Gasol and Ilgauskas are, the team drafting them would be estatic. Ilgauskas is probably the second or third best true center in the league.
