This isn't last year's Florida team, right?

The tourney last year proved that seeds don't hold in early season games. We lost to Northeastern right (I tried to wipe it from my memory)? Then beat KSU and VCU who we thought we would get in the finals. You never know.

I want UNC, in fact, based on last years RPI we should have faced them in Round 1 in this tournament( by my calculations). I guess ESPN wants UNC versus GU in the final for the ratings!

Obviously want to win this, and if Nova could come from nowhere and win last year, we could certainly do the same. But, I like that we'll almost certainly get 2-3 good games out of this. Like last year, these games could end up being huge for our chances. I've also read that one of the reasons this has become such a premier event is $$$. And, I cant complain about that either...

So we only play the second half with Florida in the first game right? Should be good and rested for our second round matchup

"Good enough to at least contend for a spot in the NCAA tournament this year?" Lol I think we are definitely better than that. However, being the underdogs will only give the team more motivation(hopefully).

I also think we will be better than contending for an NCAA seed, considering that we barely missed last year, but we do have a lot of question marks that are going to govern our performance (whether Smith comes back, if he does come back, has he lost weight, how will the freshman contribute, who will pick up Starks' scoring role, etc.).
It's hard to see how we would be worse than last year, but stranger things have happened.
UPDATE: I changed my mind - it's actually fairly conceivable to see how we could be worse. Smith could not come back (or be ineffective), Hopkins could get time at center and continue using possessions and turning it over, the freshman could be not ready, and DSR could struggle as the point guard and as defenses focus more on him. I think this is a very low percentage scenario, but it's possible.

I am really disappointed that AXS TV is broadcasting so many of these games considering that they are not available on many carriers. It's another reason to beat Florida.
If we beat Florida, games 2 and 3 are guaranteed to be on ESPN or ESPN2. If we lose to Florida, games 2 and 3 will definitely be on AXS (meaning some fans will be unable to see any of the three games).
The only possible saving grace is that if ESPN is producing the games, they might end up on ESPN3/WatchESPN.

Are 5 vs. 6 and 7 vs. 8 games on the last day really AFTER the championship game? Never seen that before.

That's what it looks like on the schedule, and the last place game doesn't tip until 10:30 pm.
Does anyone have any info yet on possible GU get-togethers on the island a la last years Puerto Rico affair?

Hold on. UCLA has a Bahamian named Wannah Bail on their roster? Sounds like a name from National Lampoon's High School Yearbook (yes, I am dating myself).

Hey, now, don't knock my Bahamian brother. Don't forget the Bahamas has produced some great basketball talents. Remember Mychal "Sweet Bells" Thompson and Osborne "Goose" Lockhart. I guess I am dating myself also.
