I don't want to speak for everyone, but I think most of us don't want to go too overboard with dreaming about Rabb. I think we all assume it's a long shot for the #1 recruit, west coast kid, to shun these other big time programs to sign with us. And the fact that Kentucky's involved and Rabb seems to like them. Don't get me wrong, I'd be ecstatic to have Rabb and I do think he'd be a program changer. But I'm just not going to start dreaming up future lineups with Rabb in my head... On the one hand, I'm very happy that the staff has showed no fear and competed with all the big boys for a bunch of elite recruits (Rabb, Skal, Dozier, Bacon, Trier, Mitchell, Dorsey, etc.). On the other hand, I'm a little concerned about the backup plan if we miss out on Rabb, Dozier, and Skal, which is a distinct possibility. You might know, but I'd assume the staff is monitoring/talking with other less heralded guards and bigs as well?

Great point. I'm not concerned at all if we miss on Rabb and Dozier. Disappointed, yes. But not concerned. If you don't think JT3 has a back-up plan, you are really selling him short.

The overall strength of our recruiting is demonstrated by the fact that even if we don't get any additional big men until 2016-2017, we will have: Isaac Copeland, Paul White, Jessie Govan, Marcus Derrickson. Sure, all four of them are unproven in college, but all of them are extremely talented. Given how weak our backcourt has been in the last couple of seasons, I think things are looking much brighter for us there, than in the past. After 2-3 years of a weak backcourt, I'm very much looking forward to Copeland and White, plus Smith hopefully being back. Obviously, if you could add Ivan Rabb to the 2015 class, that would take things to an even higher level (which would be great).
I'm less concerned on guards because we have really never been in a situation where we haven't had at least decent guards. When Trawick went down last year, we were a bit thin, but for the rest of the 10 seasons JT3 has coached, we never had a problem fielding enough adequate guards.
One of the recruiting gurus can speak better to it, but I think the odds of finding a diamond in the rough guard is much higher than for big men. It's hard for 6'10 guys to go under the radar, less so for 6'2 guards.

Is it true that AZ and Rabb have cooled on each other? I find that hard to believe but that's the rumor floating around and would be curious why.

Blueandgray do you think we will get an official visit?

Blueandgray do you think we will get an official visit? Spring announcement is almost a sure thing. From the looks of things, he is going to take all 5 officials and has yet to set any dates with any schools. With regard to Arizona chatter, they are in the mix, but aren't pressing for Rabb now that they have Comanche and are aggressively pursuing others like Caleb Swanigan.

If Rabb has seen footage of Jeff Green, Otto Porter, and most importantly Greg Monroe playing for the Hoyas and still does not wish to play here, there is nothing the staff could have done to bring him.

At least he seems to be taking the process very seriously, which I think is favorable to the Hoyas.

If Arcangues can win the Breeders Cup Classic, then Georgetown can win the race for Ivan Rabb. Here's hoping, anyway.
